Remarks
SGTB Khalsa College is one of the best colleges in the University of Delhi. It offers around 18 courses in different fields. The commerce department of this college is one of the most renowned one amongst other colleges and so I took up B.com as my stream. The placements in the college are great, and the big four come here every year to take away the best from the slot. The crowd of this college is amazing. The most important thing is that it is located in the north campus, and if you get admitted here, you are really lucky.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is well structured. All the subjects have been segregated into semester system and the level of learning is precise. Theoretical knowledge is without a doubt provided accurately and at the right time in the course, along with which certain practical courses are also taken up to include every aspect of good learning. The faculty is without a doubt dedicated and knowledgeable. The course starts with subjects linked to that in class 12th, and then take a higher level with each passing semester. Practical subjects such as Tally ERP9 and Excel have been taught so far in the previous two years ( in odd semesters respectively).
Placement Experience
Every year, big four companies like Deloitte, KPMG, E&Y, zomato, american express etc come to interview B.com and B.com Hons students. The salary package is commendable and around 5-6 out of 10 students get selected in these companies. The placement cell keeps updating students with new internship opportunities and hence the students are in the light of getting jobs easily.
College Events
If you want to live your college life, Khalsa is the place. Lashkara- the annual cultural fest is one of the biggest events in the north campus where famous Punjabi singers are invited to perform. If you are good at sports, the Khel Mahotsav is for you. All the departments compete in different sports in this event. Also, there are several other events that are conducted at a departmental level.
Campus Life
The college has a really beautiful infrastructure. The campus includes different departments for science and commerce classes. The rooms are well equipped with ACs. The Library has all the books of curriculum and otherwise. There's a huge ground for sports such as cricket, volleyball, football etc. There's also a basketball court and a gym. Not to forget, an auditorium is also included where international conferences have taken place, and a seminar hall for departmental events. All in all, the infrastructure is good.
Hostel Facilities
Being a hosteler, I have the insights one needs to know. The Khalsa hostel is one of the most expensive hostels in north campus. It is regulated by SGPC. The infrastructure is good, and even if the rooms are tripple sharing, there's not a congested feeling. The washrooms are attached in every room. Various facilities like the laundry, hot water in winters, ACs and housekeeping are provided within the hostel. The rent goes upto 67850 for 6 months. Admission to hostels is merit based with limited seats in each course. Food is not that bad, you can survive on it.
