Remarks
Reputation, the college is owned by the government of India because of which the fees is very less compared to private institution and even if is reputed as a good college in India. Also the college placement is really good.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course was I believe at par with other institutions, it covered most of the subjects needed to successfully be a computer engineer, along with that we had many opportunities for participating in events and clubs within and outside the University.
Placement Experience
We had placements in the final year of the degree and companies placed a lot of emphasis on our previous internship experience, there were a few companies who also looked at the GPA and had a cutoff to be selected. The placement office provided a placement card which identifyed us and we could register for the particular company via email to the placement office. I had connection with many seniors from my college and that helped me to choose from the right offer.
College Events
I learned a lot of things in the college, the overall exposure was superb. We had many foreign students too, there were many clubs in the college who promoted time and again extra curricular activities. There is the annual fest of NIt, where every year alteast 500-700 students participate.
Campus Life
It has a big hostel facility right inside the college compound, nice mess facility, atm machine, barber shop, restuarant, etc inside it. You can buy a cycle to tour around the hostel and even go out. It is 30 min rikshaw rode from Rourkela train station.
