Remarks

There were only 4 colleges in Delhi University available for this course and admission to these colleges was on the basis of seat availability and rank. Thus this is the college that I got. Now that I have studied here for 2 years, I have developed a liking for the education department staff. Everyone is very polite and helpful. The infrastructure is decent, though I beleive it could be better.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course and curriculum is well designed and since b. ed is a professional course it provided many opportunities for real time work experience where we interned at a school as student-teacher. There was ample space provided for classroom discussions on various social, political, religious and other issues which helped me in building perspective. Many visits were made to different types of schools (private schools, inclusive schools etc. ). Great focus was laid on perspective building and personality development which are a must for any professional course. The faculty was decent. Most teachers were helpful and easily available for discussion and problem solving. Though I was disappointed with a few subjects like *ICT FOR TEACHER EDUCATION*. There was no hands-on experience and those who are not adept to use of ICT were not given in extra aid or support. Our knowledge level in ICT before and after the course remained just the same and there was no additional growth. Seems like the subject was taken lightly.

Internships Opportunities

I interned at Government Coed Sr. Secondary School, Karampura as a PGT COMMERCE teacher. It was a part of the programme. It was unpaid.

Placement Experience

0.5

Only two school visited the college for b. ed placements. One of the schools, however eventually turned out to be seeking to appoint teachers from b. el. ed course. This was again very disappointing. I do not know about other courses but for our course there were not many placement options. The commerce pedagogy teacher of the education department has built a good alumni structure through various Google groups but I am not sure if the rest of the teachers ensure the same or the college takes any active efforts to create and sustain any alumni network.

College Events

2

To be frank, I could not participate in many activities as b. ed is a pretty engaging course with classes from morning 8. 30 to evening 5. Apart from that, the internship programme, school observation programmes and other trips and visits made it nearly impossible to show much participation. However, I would say a decent number of activities take place in college. The college has an active dance society, theatre society and regular fests are organised. But, since the infrastructure is not very well planned, the fests and events take place in one corner of the college near auditorium and the rest of the college remain untouched by the festivities. Also in my previous colleges, the fests, events and competitions were held at a very large scale, I could not however see the same level of excitement and celebration in this college. Even the decorations were far behind other regular colleges at D. U.

Campus Life

The campus infrastructure is decent with a well stocked library, ramps for specially abled. The college also went through some construction and repair of the sanitation system and new toilets were built recently. However I feel that the layout of the college building is such that it's not possible to move from one place to another without getting confused especially for a new comer. The building was made gradually over time as per need and convenience thus there is no single structure. There are different blocks/building which literally appear put of nowhere at awkward places. This means the placement of various blocks/new buildings is not really well planned. Also the new building which was inaugurated in 2018 is already in a shabby condition with the plaster falling off. However the teachers and staff seems to be making best possible use of whatever is available. Overall, I would give infrastructure a 6/10.

Placement Experience:

Placements at my college are average, students become eligible from around the 5th semester. A few companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in entry level positions. The average package is moderate, while higher package are limited. Around 70 to 80% of students get placed. I plan to focus on skill development and explore better opportunities after completing my degree.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very relevant as it contains useful concepts which a management student should know. And the concepts are very comprehensive and easy to understand. Examples are given in the curriculum which prepares us for the real world. Some teachers use the presentation based teaching which is good and should be encouraged. The exams are not that difficult for one who is atleast decent in studies.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course offers many things for students interms of their further academic pursuits or any placement they are looking for. Talking about the areas of improvement and teaching methods there are none. The exams of the respective subject are to happen. They take test 1 , test 2 and there is final exams.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester. I don't know a lot about campus placements but I know that there is a training and placement cell in our college that provides good packages to many students. Some students got more than 7lpa last year. I will be doing my Post graduation after college and will make a career in academics.
