Shruti Rajput's Review On Usha Mittal Institute Of Technology - [UMIT], Mumbai

I was allotted UMIT in the very first slot of CAP rounds. I filled very few colleges from Mumbai and UMIT was in top 6. It is the only girls Engineering college in Mumbai and comes under SNDT university. I read the reviews of the college students and i contacted few passout and senior year students. The reviews were very good. Teaching faculty, Academics were very well planned. So I decided not to wait for next CAP round and I froze my seat in UMIT. I think it was good decision. The teaching staff here is very supportive and always willing to guide students. Principal of the college, Mr. Pawar sir, is also supportive. The most important thing I liked about college is the academic curriculum. It ensures overall development of a student in particular branch. The college is in one of the main location of Mumbai i.e Juhu. It is cherry on cake for the college.

Course syllabus is updated recently i.e 2020. The academic curriculum of college is overall very good. No sort of burden is experienced in curriculum. Curriculum ensures that the student gets all updated knowledge on specific subject. Faculties: Faculties are very supportive and always willing to guide us. Their teaching method and notes are very helpful and thus during exam there is minimal need to refer any outside book. Notes given by faculties are enough. But some of them are not that well but they try their best to teach students and ensure that student understands the concept.

I have not heard much about placements on campus. Most of the alumini applied for internship outside the campus. But noted companies come to recruit students. Some of them are Oracle, Infosys, HSBC, Colgate, Accenture, Barclays, JP Morgan etc. These companies come to recruit every year

Campus life was good. Other than academic and study, students have option to choose from 4-5 councils. Each Council have festival in respective months and every year the theme of the festival changes. The largest council is student council. Arcane is the festival arranged by student council and it is festival of whole college. Celebrity visits are very common during this 4 days fest.

The scholarship forms are available in period from August to September. Shahu Maharaj scholarship are generally filled by student

To be honest campus's overall structure is not so well. If you think of any luxurious structure of the campus then it's all false. But one can find greenery on campus and lawns, and trees and it feels good to stroll down the road just for walk. In college there is foyer and lots of sport council as well as other councils have their small programs or sport match and one can enjoy that

Hostel infrastructure is good. There are two hostel campuses, one at Juhu and other at Churchgate. Both are good. Generally 4 seater rooms are available. But one can also opt for 2 seater rooms if you want. 7 pm is the intime of hostel juhu campus. PG's outside the campus have very high rates. 12-16k month per bed. Vile parle has some good PG's with affordable rates.
