Remarks

I chose YCCE because it has the Autonomy Status & also because my maternal uncle had studied from here & he also recommended this college as one of the best in Nagpur. Most of the students pursuing bachelor's degree here get recruited in MNCs with impressive packages. The Admission process simply includes - submitting the appropriate documents which were uploaded during the online registration along with the hard copy of admission form, then fees of the college is to be paid according to your category. Then they ask if you need bus service from your house or do you need hostel & mess service if you're from other city or state and that's it, you're good to go. About blog or forum, I just checked the review of college on Google & I found it pretty promising.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum is really very good & vast, means it covers many aspects of the field & gives a view of how things work in a particular field. My field was computer technology, where I got to study from beginner to advanced level about various languages like C, C++, Python & I also got to learn about the various concepts used in my field in subjects like Data structure, Operating Systems, etc. Talking about the faculty in my department, my department had some very talented teachers who would teach their students with real life examples & would always clear our doubts in off time also. But as usual there are some drawbacks everywhere, so some faculty really need to improve their teaching style & should try to understand what their students expect from them.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

YCCE does offer internships from various companies like Infosys, Persistent, etc. Unfortunately I was not eligible for internships offered from my college but I have a little idea of what they offer. Basically they provide the final year students with an industrial experience with stipend & if the students perform well enough, they are also selected for permanent job in the same company.

Placement Experience

3.5

From 7th Semester campus recruitment process starts in YCCE for the eligible students. So far many companies have visited in YCCE for campus recruitment out of which many are MNCs & offer packages from 4 LPA to 10 LPA. Companies like Accenture, Jade Global, Persistent, MuSigma, HCL, etc have conducted campus recruitment process in our college. Highest package offered is 10 LPA by BYJUs. Average package offered was 5 LPA. From the whole college, 75-80% of the students have got placed. Unfortunately I was not placed in any of the companies due to less CGPA. Right now, my plans after the degree are to prepare for Banking & other Government Exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees structure is pretty much similar to every other college in Maharashtra. If you're from General Category, Full fees of ?1,14,000/year needs to be paid during the admission of each year or with recommendation from Dean you can also pay the fees in installment. Scholarship/Freeship is also provided to students (from Government according to caste or category). I'm from NT-D category in Maharashtra(OBC for all over India) & I can avail Freeship under which my Tution Fees of approximately ?98,000 & Exam Fees of ?5000 is waived off. According to various categories, 50% or 100% Scholarship/Freeship is provided to students. Talking about the campus recruitment, every student is provided with a basic Campus Recruitment Training just before the start of final year & students whose CGPA of 6 Semesters is above 6.75 out of 10 are eligible for campus recruitment & most of these students get placed in companies with packages like 4 to 10 Lakh per annum.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life in YCCE was much like a roller coaster, with certain ups & downs during the college life but as it gets going, you get to know things & you understand how things work here. The annual fest or techfest in our college is YASH. YASH is the annual college fest which has both cultural events as well as tech events. YASH also includes the official FRESHERS party for the 1st year students. Other than tech & cultural events, YASH also features Sports Events every year & the competition is on Departmental basis. Yash is conducted every year in the month of February & it also includes Traditional Day which is most probably on 14 Feb on the occasion of Valentine's Day. Other than YASH, every department conducts a separate Fest which includes tech & cultural events or competitions. These are conducted every year in the month of August or September. Our college also has NSS Club & Rotaract Club which also conducts events according to their convenience.

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
