Glories of SJCC

Sjcc is certainly one of the most amazing colleges for culturals and extracurricular even though the first aim is on the academics of the students. The fests and numerous programs keep us engaged and feel like we belong in college. The sports teams are usually qualified for a national and international level. The Admission process is not lenghty and does not lag but it certainly makes sure that the students who get in are deserving and also the social qualities and knowledge of the student is considered with interview based questions. When I first joined, I had an oral interview with few questions in accounts and basic community related ones. We didn't even need any blogs, any student who has previously passed out from Joseph's knows that this is the go to place for Commerce background students who want to pursue in the same field.

The course for industrial integrated is quite apt and changing according to the changing conditions in the present world. Tata services makes sure to give us back up in BPS, where we are exactly taught how BPS works in the real world. The faculty is a huge number, every teacher usually takes four classes a day, and even for language subjects we have two teachers per class. Highly qualified teachers are there, even the newly recruited ones hold a high degree. We had exams every semester but the internals which the teachers conducted personally always were of various thought process types and practical oriented where we would have to think alot and make a proper presentation in order to earn marks.

Starting from the second year all students are given a chance at an Internship. We have a separate council for that. Where the team sends our current offices looking to hire interns.

The placements are pretty good on our campus. For my course even the Tata services company would come in for Job interviews.

The fees has increased comparatively. But our college makes sure to offer Government as well as Management scholarships where every student gets a chance to pay as much as possible and also be able to afford it. Campus interviews and Job placements have been happening from a very long time. A lot of people get recruited each year. Some, even with Tata services.

Josephs is knows for its wide range of events and cultural fests. There are inter collegiate fests as well as inter class fests. Dhwani, for example is a renowned fest. I would always remember my first year in college attending Dhwani. A lot of sports events are conducted too like Spardha, Sports day event etc where everyone participates and fights to win as a class. We have official teams in football, hockey and basketball where the teams play on a national level.

The main topics were relates to thought based problem solving skills and accounts based questions for me. The main criteria was merit and previously attained marks from tenth and twelfth.
