Alvas Education foundation provides quality education . Rather than academics they give importance to cultural and sports events which is commonly not seen in other colleges.

I opted this college because of its infrastructure and its preference to cultural and sports activies inspite of being an affiliated college under Mangalore University it also holds a good records in the academics. I chose bachelor's of science with specializations as microbiology, chemistry and zoology. Basic thing a science student must concentrate is in the practicals. The science faculty at alvas college has well trained and dedicated staffs. In addition to this alvas college has all the three wings of National cadet corps which polishes the individual in a better way.

Bachelor's of Science degree is a three year course which comprises of six semesters. The subject in the first and second year are also same expect the Indian constitution, Environmental studies. The core subjects were Microbiology, chemistry and zoology along with the language subjects being kannada and english. But in the final year languages have been ommitted up and much preference is given to core subjects. Henceforth there will be two subject papers each comprising of total six papers in the final year in addition to six practical papers.

As a part of project work internship could be carried out in different companies such as Mangalore chemical fertilizers , United Beverage's. The stipend paid was five thousand rupees per month.

Every year Alvas Education foundation conducts Alvas Pragathi where in about two hundred companies participate and as a result about 2500- 4000students are placed in reputed companies such as Wipro, Infosys, Biocon, Narayana Health, Mangalore Chemical Fertilizers, Cipla, Titan group of companies, IBM etc. The basic salary offered were about 12000- 15000 rupees per month for a Bachelor's degree student. Alvas pragathi is conducted everyyear during the month of May or June for a period of two days at the Alvas campus.

Alvas being an affiliated college under Mangalore University has made the university proud in the cultural, sports as well as in accademics. Alvas college represented the Mangalore university in National Athletics and state athletics meet and set a benchmark. The cultural programs are conducted in the name of Alvas Nudisiri and Alvas Virasath.

The structure is feasible for the courses offered. The fee structures varies depending upon the courses. Fees for the Bachelor's of Science is 19000- 22000 per year, Bachelor of Computer application being about 45000-48000 rupees per year, Bachelor of Management and Commerce being about 25000 per year.

Those students who are talented in sports and cultural activities the chairman of Alvas college brought about the adoption facility which provides free education including the hostel expenses. This is one of the best scholarship given by the private institution in the state.

Alvas education foundation provides cohed education where in girls and boys are treated equally without any discrimination. Each and every one are treated as students equally neglecting the caste, creed or sex.

Girls students are accommodated in hostels within the campus. Alvas College campuses has about 7-9 hostels where girls are accommodated and boys are accommodated in the hostels within the city limit and the college has its own about 35 buses for the benefit of students. A well hygienic vegetarian food is provided inspite of an egg by the experienced cooks. Hostels rooms are well cleaned and maintained by the sweepers and mopers.

Most of the students passed from Alvas college are placed in reputed companies. Despite this an healthy relationship is maintained with the seniors in mind with the thought of Live and Let live learnt or cultivated during the days at the Alvas college.

Alvas education foundation provides a quality education as a result of this students of alvas college students secure ranks in the university examinations. Examinations are conducted with utmost care by the experienced faculties who in future shape the nation.

First and foremost faculty of Alvas college are well qualified with Master's and Doctrol degrees- Phd inspite of their skill. After each semesters students are required to give the feedback of the faculty which helps them to correct their negative points.
