RICS School of Built Environment offers MBA in Construction Project Management Course Duration of the course is 2 years Designed to prepare professionals that excel in project management roles.Equips students with knowledge & skills that help them become a catalyst in successful delivery of projects by integrating the inputs of specialists such as architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, sustainability experts, finance experts, and others. The program is based on knowledge areas of project management, business management, construction, sustainability and behavioral aspects of projects. Students will be exposed to models, tools & techniques to manage time, cost, quality, safety, risk, sustainability and human resources on large and complex projects of the built environment sector. They would be adept to work as project managers for development or construction firms, international consulting firm, multi-national architectural firm or government sector organization.

100% of our MBA 2013-15 batch has been placed as interns across 32 companies. 100% students were placed for the internship period in May-June 2015 (8 weeks). The summer internship process for MBA batch 2013-2015 started in February 2014 and was completed in April 2014. 32 firms in real estate & construction recruit all 80 summer interns from RICS School of Built Environment - recording 100% placement. 63 companies participated in the internship process More than 140 offers were made by participating companies 100% placement of all 80 students as summer interns by 32 companies 30% of the students had at-least 2 offers and about 10% of the students had more than 3 offers each Highest stipend offered was INR 45,000 Average stipend offered was INR 15,000 After a stringent process of employer interviews, skill-set matching between employer needs and student skills, as well as studentﾒs preferences, all students were recruited for the internship period in May-June 2014 (8 weeks). Participating companies included real estate development firms, construction firms, real estate & construction consulting firms, banks and housing finance companies, global investment banks, cost & project management, facilities management companies & professional services firms participated in the process. Students were placed in a wide variety of roles such as investments & finance, real estate private equity, real estate capital markets, marketing, strategic consulting, construction management, project management, quantity surveying, cost management, corporate real estate, facilities management and market research. The highest stipend was offered by a corporate occupier followed by a renowned real estate development firm based in Mumbai.

With placement committment of many employers from day one, RICS SBE invited various companies to visit the campus for pre-placement talks, to share requirements for vacant positions and handpick students that best suited those roles. Given the strong demand of specialised professionals and the quality of talent available at RICS SBE, nearly 85% of the MBA batch was placed within the placement fortnight in December 2014. Not a result that many institutions can boast of, for their first batch! By beginning of April 2015, this number has reached 98% with only few students evaluating offers and expected closure soon.

The college follows a semester system in which the examinations are conducted twice a year as per the academic calendar of the university. The odd semester begins in August and ends in December and the even semester begins in January and ends in May. The external examination is conducted by IP University for 75 marks. The internal exams are conducted by the college for 25 marks. Total marks in a subject are 100. Internal examinations are held as per the academic calendar of ALS, Delhi that is in consonance with the academic calendar issued by the IP University. Internal examinations are conducted twice in every semester. The first internal exams are out of 50 marks and the second internal exams are for 100 marks. These marks are scaled down to a component of 5 marks and 10 marks respectively. The exams are conducted in the months of September and November for odd semesters while for the even semesterﾒs examination are conducted in the months of February and April. Internal exams are conducted according to the syllabus covered in class lectures which is approximately 1-1.5 units for 1st internals and the full syllabus for the second internals. Apart from the already mentioned assessment methods, students are expected to prepare a project report in every subject (which is for 5 marks). The topics are assigned by the subject teacherin the beginning of every semester. The assessment of the project is done on the basis of viva-voce, which is also for 5 marks. The viva voce assessment also takes into account the class participation and regularity of the student in attending classes. The internal examinations are strictly based according to IP Universityﾒs pattern and serve as mock examinations for the students. In order to equip the students with better understanding of the university pattern, previous years question papers are available in the ALSD Library.
