Remarks

College in overall is very good. I still need to know many things in the college. About management, few people really speak so kindly. But, receptionist in my college never spoke kindly with me. I feel bad speaking with such people. Once College's registrar spoke really harsh with me when I went to ask for his signature on some docs related to scholarship application.

Course Curriculum Overview

I'm a first year student and I tell things in my view. 1st includes basics as they say of everything. We'll be learning mechanics, computer science, maths, chemistry, physics, biology, electronics, electricals etc. I personally didn't find these things useful as most of it we won't be using as cse students. Even, the classes were kind of boring, exam oriented. Students including me were studying only for sake of exams. In first year, I felt computer science bit useful, in my point of view. In cs, 1st sem is all about introduction to Python. 2nd sem is about C, everything starts from scratch. Apart from regular classes, college has got good number of clubd from dancing to coding etc. This can help students if they are interested in any fields. When it comes to exam structure, there would be 2 internals (ISAs) and one final exam (ESA) per sem. Assignments are added to isa's marks. Each ISA carry 20% of total making it 40% and esa carries 60% of total marks with which our gpa is calculated.

Placement Experience

4.5

As per I have read and seen, College stands in top for placements. Placements in CSE is around 100%. I have met 2 seniors from the final year, who got placed in their 7th sem. One with a package of around 15 lpa, other with 30 lpa. They said process of placement starts at the end of 3rd year, beginning of 4th year. He said, he gave interview for more than 3 companies and finally he got selected. Its really awesome to have a chance of getting placed with a good salary, that too in the starting of final year.

College Events

4.5

There are quite number of events with few being the main ones, that happens in the year. Students from different clubs like drama, dancing etc organise programs here n when, in which we can participate too. There are some hackathons etc, in which we can participate. One of the main event in PES (RR campus) is AthmaTrisha. Its as they say is techno cultural fest. Some games and competitions are also organized as part of this event. A concert evening is organised as part of this. This year (2019-2020) Benny Dayal and Thaikudam Bridge came to perform for the evening. Past years have got fantastic singers like Vishal Dadlani, Shankar Mahadevan etc. This evening really is good n highlight of the whole event.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have applied for 2-3 scholarships from govt and I got around 15-20k rupees from it. person who sits in Scholarship section of college's office speaks with lil attitude, I don't know why (my personal experience). So I felt bad when I had to speak with him, asking for details, providing docs etc him. College by itself, provides 2 kinds of scholarship to its students who score good marks in their exam. They give 20% of student's fee to top 20% of students in terms of gpa per sem. They give 25% of student's fee to top 5% of students in terms of cgpa per sem. It's really good in terms of scholarships. As per I know, no other college in banglore provides these kind of scholarships to students.

Campus Life

Campus life is good. There is few food courts, place to sit and hangout etc. Even gender ratio is equal I guess, as I could see lots of girls and boys over the campus together in groups. My small events and programs keeps happening in college campus from different clubs in which we can to participate and get noticed, if we really are that kind of people. Many new infrastructure is being built in the campus. This new building is goin to be one of the best and big thing happened in the banglore. College has many labs, well equipped computers in the labs, workshops etc. It has a basketball court, cricket field, small football court, hall for indore games, gym (new gym as part of building thts being built), etc.

Hostel Facilities

No, I didn't opt hostel. My home is about 7km away from college. So, travel on bmtc buses to my college. From my few friends who stay at hostel, I hv heard that hostel really is good and clean. They say even the fool is good. Our college got few food courts including south Indian food which is really good. I guesd hostel rules are bit strict, as I said I don't know much about hostel.

Alumni/Alumna

Some events that are organised during my starting days as a part of bootstrap program, were organised by alumni students. As part of pesu io program, seniors from 2nd 3rd year provide free hands on courses like web development, game development, intro to stocks etc per sem which any student can register.

Admission

I didn't really had this college in my mind during my pu days as I wasn't really thinking much about colleges etc. I always wanted to persue Computer science and engineering. So, when I searched top CSE colleges in Bangalore after all my exams and KCET (Entrance exam to join engineering colleges), n did some research n enquiries by myself I found PES is one among the top colleges in Bangalore n top one for CSE. Then I searched previous years' kcet rank cutoff's for cse of colleges in my list. PES (RR campus)'s cse cutoff for final round in general category was around 1k but for category 1G, it was around 2.5k (Because of reservation).Since I belonged to that category, n my rank was 3k, I just kept PES top in my choosen list just to try my luck. During allotment, in 1st round I got UVCE. I continued for 2nd round, then I got PES college. I was happy with what I got cuz I didn't really thought I'll get PES college in 2nd round itself. Then, I confirmed my choice and proceeded for admission. I had to pay around 54k as cet fee to get admission order. Then with admission order and cet fee's receipt we went to college before the given last date for admission. We had to pay 48k as college fee, that includes exam fee, etc. Fee payments were made with challan or check, I'm not able to recall exactly recall.

Faculty

3.5

There are about 22 sections in 1st yeat engineering. I don't exactly know the number of faculties but there good number of profeesors. I didn't personally found any of them to be best in 1st year. There are few who I heard does really great, but in my section I had around 2 teachers out of some 6 who I can say are good. It doesn't mean others are bad, its just that my expectations aren't met.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would like to rate the course 7 out of 10. Because as these is a distance learning many difficulties occur. I am doing a MBA in ksou after my graduation in b. Com. As ksou comes under UGT it is more helpful for the job seeker. As per my knowledge the faculty should conduct a more classes may be through online so that the working people can attend the classes from wherever they want. There are many distance learning courses in ksou academic platform but they are not handling in a accuracy. They take a lot of time to announce a results, even to conduct a exams they take a lot of time. The question paper are sometimes difficult and the question will be from out of syllabus which will be difficult to attend. Distance learning course is difficult to manage
