Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is well designed and is according to the UGC-NET examination syllabus. It helped me a lot in preparation of UGC-NET. I secured distinction in my post-graduation which helped to avail Maulana Azad National Fellowship during my PhD.
Placement Experience
I successfully got admission in CSIR-Indian Institute of Toxicology Research, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, for dissertation in final semester of my post-graduation.
College Events
Foundation Day Celebration Programme is huge and includes Nukkad natak, bait baazi, quiz competition, Mushaira, stage play, cultural programme etc. Freshers and Farewell parties are the cherry on the top. During the month of Ramadan an iftar party is also organised.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is affordable. During 2009-2011 the fee payment was through fee deposition at Indian Bank placed in the campus of Jamia Millia Islamia. No other additional charges were requested by the university. The university provides transparency in fee-breakdown.
Fees and Financial Aid
As the fees was affordable therefore I did not applied for an education loan. But I received post-matric scholarship during post graduation.
Campus Life
Gender ratio is far an equal for both boys and girls. The Jamia's sports complex has a centrally air conditioned indoor games stadium and also has facilities for outdoor games. Labs are well furnished and has all the required equipments such as PCR, gel-doc system, laminar, biosafety cabinet, incubators etc. and also required chemical reagents. The department also hosts seminars, conferences were one can present their work in the form of poster and oral presentation.
Hostel Facilities
I didn't required hostel as my home town in Delhi. But there are limited hostel seats and are availed on the basis of merit followed by an interview. I have visited the hostel as one of my friend lived there. The facilities are good. The nearby localities are Okhla, Ghaffar manzil, Zakir nagar, Batla House, Abul Fazal and Noor nagar where one easily find a PG with an average rental of 4000 rupees.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network is good and seniors helped us in preparation of UGC-NET and guided us in availing PhD. They also helped us in preparing synopsis for PhD admissions
Admission
I qualified entrance examination and secured my seat in M.Sc. Biotechnology. After qualifying the exam an interview was held within one month of the entrance exam results announcement. The interview results too were declared within a month and I was allotted a seat.
Faculty
The faculty is experienced as well as good. They not only helped me in studies but also guided me to successfully get admission in CSIR-Indian Institute of Toxicology Research, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, for dissertation in final semester of my post-graduation.
