Remarks
Overall, the college is good if you want only knowledge and placement. If you're more interested in extra curricular, it's not that good. Management can be called average as many times broken machinery is taken months to replace.
Course Curriculum Overview
The college follows curriculum prescribed by VTU. And since it is not an autonomous college yet, the exam structure is also as decided by the university. The curriculum as of 2020 has somewhat changed since I got admitted. The exam pattern as well as the syllabus is changed for the upcoming batches. Research opportunities are quite limited but the teaching is quite wonderful.
Placement Experience
Placement is another aspect where the college is great. While the average package of almost every college in Bangalore is about 3.5 lakhs, Rnsit has an average placement package of 4.5 lakhs. The companies that visit the college are Juspay, Amazon, Accenture, Byju's, Bosch many more. In the 2020 batch placements, around 100+ companies visited the college with maximum packages of 20+ lakhs. The college provides pre-placement training for students in the 6th semester. This lead to almost 96 percent of Information science students getting placed in the previous batch.
College Events
The main fest in the college are Parichay which is an intra college fest and Pantheon which is an inter college fest. Though the fest are the biggest and the most awaited in the college, it is not as big as many other college fest. The crowd size in Pantheon can be described as above average. There are also many departmental fest that are organized across the year.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee of the college when compared to other colleges is a bit low. The fee through ComedK comes at around 2 lakhs per annum for me. However, the fee is increased almost every year. The fee for management quota goes upto 4-5 lakhs per annum for branches like cse, ise and ece.
Fees and Financial Aid
I took a a loan of 7.5 lakhs for my 4 year degree. However, there are also few scholarship opportunities provided for the scheduled castes and the scheduled tribes as well as for children of defence personnel.
Campus Life
The campus life is good though it can always be better. The gender ratio is good too. There are people from all over the country and hence it has a diverse crowd. There is however, no bias based on any other ground, though there is some rift between North Indians and South Indians and some teachers tend to be biased on that too. The downside of the college is that there are not many extra curricular opportunities. The ones related to academics are supported very much but the others not that much.
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors are very helpful in passing the knowledge about the placement preparations. Some of the alumni also visit the college to give seminars and talk about their experiences.
Admission
Admission in my college can be taken either by taking entrance exams like ComedK or K-CET. One can also get admitted through management quota which obviously has more fees than taking admission through a test. I got admission through ComedK. During my time, a rank of upto around 12k in ComedK could get you an information science seat whereas a rank of upto around 10k could get you a computer science seat. The admission process of both kcet and comedk usually starts in the month of june.
Faculty
The faculties are the main attraction of the college. They support you in every way possible. Almost every faculty member has an M.Tech and few of them hold PhD. Information science has about 20-30 faculty members. They continuously keep arranging for motivational as well as educational seminars.
