Remarks

The college is good for placements but the campus life and the events are not that much good and the fees is also very much expensive when compared to other NITs. It depends on the student on how he gets adapted to the college environment.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is fair at NIT Delhi, but the number of faculty in the institute are very less. The first year curriculum is same for all the branches and then the curriculum for a respective branch starts in the second year. Shortage of faculty is a problem for students, because the students have no freedom to select their own electives in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th years. Instead they have to take the electives that college suggests and could provide faculty for. The best part is the college allocates good courses in these electives and the faculty have good knowledge in the field. The Exams are conducted in two phases. The Mid Semester (25% of total marks) and the End Semester(50% of total marks) and 20% of marks are allocated through continuous evaluation which is based on the performance of the student in the semester in classroom and in labs. The rest 5% is for attendance. Industrial visits and seminars are organised based on the availability of time and resources at that particular moment.

Placement Experience

4

Companies like Amazon, IBM, Samsung, L&T, Mu Sigma, Sapient, Paytm, Oyo and many other companies visit the campus and the campus has very good placements. The training and placement cell works very well to ensure good placements for all the students. Regarding internships, every student must do an internship after the second year and also after the third year for which they would get credits in that particular semester. I did an internship in social media marketing and currently doing an internship in data science.

College Events

1.5

Not too many events happen in the college. But some events like Zeal (the Sports Fest), Saptrang (Cultural Fest), Sentience (Techno Cultural fest), Terra Technica (Technical fest), Insignia (Literary fest), End Semester Premier League (Sports fest for hostellers). All these fests won't happen in a single academic year. May be one or two among these would take place. End Semester Premier League takes place twice a year and this happens every year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very expensive which is around 80-90 thousand rupees per semester plus mess fees of around 15000 per semester for the students whose family's annual income is above 5 lakhs. There is no permanent campus and hostels. The hostels for first and second year boys are nearly 10km away from the college and daily they have to go to college on a bus which is rented by the college from some private owner.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college do not offer any scholarship on its own, but helps the students in applying to scholarships by various organisations. I am a student of general category whose family income is above 5 lakhs per annum. So, I generally do not get any scholarship. But other students get various scholarships from other organisations and government.

Campus Life

Campus is not too good but friends are good. The gender ratio of males to females is around 4:1. People from different places in India like Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, Telengana, Rajastan, Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala.etc come here to study. Labs are too small with limited equipment as there is no permanent campus and labs are conducted as a part of classroom curriculum based on the course. Sports facilities are less but sufficient for the strength of the college. The Sports Officer is very good person and tries his best to train the students in different sports every evening 4.30pm to 7.00pm. Students take training in different sports like Volleyball, Basketball, Cricket, Kabaddi, Athletics, Weight lifting, Yoga, Badminton. People of all religions and ethinicity are present here. Robotics are just included as aprt of tech fest but nothing more than that is found.

Hostel Facilities

Yes, I have opted for hostel. The hostel for first year and second year boys are 10km away from the college. The location of these hostels is not even in Delhi. It is in haryana. Daily bus facility is arranged for students to go to college from hostels. The rooms are 3bhk flats which are rented by college from a private owner. Each is allocated for 6 students. They are a bit spacious for 6 students with 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms. They are not too good but okay comparitively. Frequent power cuts and water shortage occur in this area. It takes nearly a whole day to for such problems to get solved or sometimes even more than that. But environment is good with greenary around and the place is not too safe to travel alone especially during nights. The Mess is also run by a private owner who charges around 3000 every month and the food is that much good. They won't give any concessions for students who do not want to opt for mess. Mess is compulsory for all hostelers. If you are a hosteler, you have to pay for the mess though you do not eat. The hostels for 3rd and 4th year boys are near campus and also the hostels for all the girls are inside the campus.

Alumni/Alumna

As the college is established just 10 years ago. The college does not have a big alumni network but the alumni of the college are good and helpful to juniors. The interactions between seniors and juniors is good.

Admission

The admission to this college is based on the rank a student gets in the Joint Entrance Exam Mains (JEE Mains). The exam is conducted in the first week of April and the results of the exam are declared around the end of the April or First week of May. The counselling to the college is conducted by the JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) and the seats are given based on the performance in the JEE Mains Exam. The counseling procedure starts in the mid of June where the candidates start filling the choices of courses and institutes that they are interested in. The seats are given to candidates among the choices they filled, if they are eligible. The counselling round1 starts at the end of the June month. The JoSAA would allocate a seat for a candidate based on the choices he made. All the candidates who want to get an admission must attend the round 1 compulsorily with the seat that was allocated to them. If a candidate fails to attend the round 1 in counselling then he/she is not eligible for getting a seat in the subsequent rounds. In the round 1 of counselling, the candidate will have three options, whether (i) to fix the seat that he/she was allocated or (ii) Wait for the next round hoping to get a better seat in another college or (iii)wait for the next round hoping to get a better course in the same college in which already a seat was allocated to him. The candidate fixes the seat either in the first round or subsequent rounds. All of this process gets finished by the end of the month July. Later the candidate has to visit his/her college and proceed for the further admission process as per the schedule given by the colleges in their respective websites.

Faculty

3.5

For every course the number of theory lectures are 36 and the lab or tutorial lectures are 12. There are 3 theory periods and 1 lab (or tutorial) for every subject in a week for the whole semester. The faculty have good expertise in their subject and teach well in the classrooms and labs. The lecturers held relevant industry experience in the past and Ph.D is necessary to be a faculty.

Placement Experience:

Placements at my college are average, students become eligible from around the 5th semester. A few companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in entry level positions. The average package is moderate, while higher package are limited. Around 70 to 80% of students get placed. I plan to focus on skill development and explore better opportunities after completing my degree.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very relevant as it contains useful concepts which a management student should know. And the concepts are very comprehensive and easy to understand. Examples are given in the curriculum which prepares us for the real world. Some teachers use the presentation based teaching which is good and should be encouraged. The exams are not that difficult for one who is atleast decent in studies.

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.
