My college was an wonderful college. It taught me the meaning of my life and how to face the life with courage. It taught me how to respect the elders and at the same time how to show affection to our juniors and the downtrodden.

During that period of my college study, there was no campus placement of any sort from any of the companies. There was no sponsors also to intake any of the freshers from the college. The faculties kept their limit within their teaching parameters. It was my individual ability to make use of their teaching and got my appointment in what I am today. The industrial visits were also to the limited extent only.

No placement facility available during the period of my course. My college course started from the year 1980 and went on till 1985. During this period of time placement facility was not available.

During my college days, they use to celebrate one college day festival by name ' Confluence' . It was a mega show with lot of arts, music, sports and several other events, in which participants were from all the leading colleges in Tamilnadu. The chief guests during the function were also VIP's only, one among them was the one one only unique writer genius 'Sujatha'.

Since my college was a Government College, the fees structure was not expensive and within the bearable limits. No as such additional charges were paid with respect to admission to the course. There was ultimate transperancy in the fee structure breakdown.

There was scholarship facility offerred in my college. I studied on my parental assistance during the entire period of my course.

My college was of co-education kind with both both boys and girls. The ladies strength was almost equal to the boys strength. During those there were limited colleges available to intake girl students. So our college was filled with more girl students. We studied without any gender ,race, religion, status disparity.

I was an hosteler during my college days. Every year we were shifted to a new block. Each and every year hostel was named with name of rivers in our country. The first year hostel was named after river Cauvery and the final year hostel was named after Palaru

The seniors from my college were helpful in a way to uplift my carrier, by way of helping with their books, notes etc.

By way of Government merit list. There was no engineering college in Pondicherry during 1980. I was selected on merit by the state government of Pondicherry to GCT, Coimbatore. I got admitted to BE (Civil) during the year 1981 and finished my degree in the year 1985.

Thare were nearly about 20 to 25 nos. Of lecturers available during my course period in my civil engineering department. These lecturers were of mixed characters both in their way of teaching and their of friendly movement. Their average age was about 30 to 35. Their qualification varied from graduation to doctorate level. There were lecturers available with distinct industrial experience.
