Remarks

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) is one of the leading universities in India. It has been ranked the No. 1 university among government universities this year 2020. In the field of engineering it ranks itself at 28 position including IITs, NITs and other whereas it ranks at 16th in overall universities in India. JMI has the best of the faculties in the country, excellent sports stadium, gym for fitness, huge libraries, study rooms, well furnished and highly equipped labs with latest technologies.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course Curriculum is up to date and is revised every year to include the top-notch technologies in various field especially engineering. Various companies arrive at the campus to provide industrial exposure such as L&T, Springboard etc. The faculties at JMI are quite friendly and always welcome any kind of queries a student has, especially our HOD Dr. Tanvir Ahmad and Ch. Wali Mohammad to name a few. A student can approach them easily by mail or through Whatsapp regarding any kind of doubt related or not related to syllabus as well. They will surely find a solution for it or lay out a path for you.

Placement Experience

4

The placement cell in JMI is hyperactive. They are in touch with all of the top-tech companies such as Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Adobe etc. Almost all of these companies come for placements. This years a student named Pratham Batra is placed in Microsoft with a package 41 lacs per annum. While Google came for recruitment in role of Application Engineer at the package of 23 LPA, SpringBoard recruited 2 students at 19 LPA and many more. There are startup clubs in the campus and the environment around contributes to it completely. A student doesn't have to worry about placements once he is focused on this academics and focused to learn the new technologies.

College Events

5

Campus life in JMI is awesome. You get one of the largest campus for any university in India. The campus spreads across 1000+ acres including large auditoriums, full size sports fields for cricket and football, basketball, tennis and what not. There is a lush of greenery spread throughout the campus. You can also see the JMI logo in green colour which is a symbol of environment friendly. I can say it is one of the greenest college campus in the country. Every year a wide range of societies such as The Robotic Society (TRS), IEEE, Quiz clubs, Dance Clubs, Singing clubs etc organise various competitions and fests. Annually TALIMI MELA is held in the last week of October which is pride of JMI.

Fees and Financial Aid

One of the most famous Scholarships is APJ Abdul Kalam Scholarship for EWS Student whose family income is less than 2,00,000 per annum and there are many other scholarships as well which you can find on the JMI website jmi.ac.in

Campus Life

Campus Infrastructure is more than what you can expect from any college.especially the sports facilities and libraries. Labs are equipped with latest technologies as mentioned earlier as well. Wi-fi facilities are available just you have to apply in the centre of Information and Technology to get its access. Documentation is quite vital in JMI. Any student can get the facilities but you have to follow the standard procedure and documentation for it.

Hostel Facilities

I haven't opted for hostel but I am well aware about it. JMI has a wide range of students, on the other hand the numbers of hostels are very less. So, the availability of hostel is less and there is high competition for it. There is a seperate selection process for it started by application form, interview process and merit list. So, only the needful are able to make it. Solo as well as rooms are available for sharing as well. Most of the students who are unable to get hostel, accommodate themselves in the nearby PG's and hostels.

Placement Experience:

Placements at my college are average, students become eligible from around the 5th semester. A few companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in entry level positions. The average package is moderate, while higher package are limited. Around 70 to 80% of students get placed. I plan to focus on skill development and explore better opportunities after completing my degree.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very relevant as it contains useful concepts which a management student should know. And the concepts are very comprehensive and easy to understand. Examples are given in the curriculum which prepares us for the real world. Some teachers use the presentation based teaching which is good and should be encouraged. The exams are not that difficult for one who is atleast decent in studies.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course offers many things for students interms of their further academic pursuits or any placement they are looking for. Talking about the areas of improvement and teaching methods there are none. The exams of the respective subject are to happen. They take test 1 , test 2 and there is final exams.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester. I don't know a lot about campus placements but I know that there is a training and placement cell in our college that provides good packages to many students. Some students got more than 7lpa last year. I will be doing my Post graduation after college and will make a career in academics.
