Course Curriculum Overview
Course structure with research point if view is very good,college has been ranked 2nd best college for research after IISC BANGALORE, in Karnataka and among top 10 colleges in India. There are common course for all students in the first year but they have different curriculum for different department which is on the website of nitk.

Yes college provide internship in the 3rd year.around 100 companies visits for internship only and last year 245 companies visited for placement.

College Events
Incident is the annual cultural festival of NITK Surathkal and is one of the biggest of its kind in India. This four day festival, which takes place in the month of March, attracts a footfall of more than 40,000 every year. Students from numerous colleges throng to Incident to participate in a plethora of events as well as to witness spectacular shows. Incident has featured top Indian music artists like Sunidhi Chauhan, KK, Javed Ali, Salim-Sulaiman, Vishal-Shekhar as well as bands such as Indian Ocean, Motherjane, Swarathma and Led Zepplica. In a nutshell, Incident plays host to a party you would definitely not want to miss out on.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Semester fee is around 40k for general and 8k for sc/st but also students who can't afford it have -100% Tuition Fee waiver for SC/ST/PH students.Full remission of the Tuition Fee for General & OBC students whose family income is less than Rs.1 lakh per annum.Remission of 2/3rd of the Tuition Fee for General & OBC students whose family income is between Rs.1 lakh to Rs.5 lakh per annum.
Fees and Financial Aid
No,scholarship are mostly given to sc/st students weather they are required or not,their whole college and hostel fees get reimbursed. However some meritorious students also get scholarships.
Campus Life
Gender ratio is around 1:3 or 1:4, which is much higher than any other engineering colleges because of DASA students. There are many cultural top class ans well known global level societies like IEEE, ACM, ISTE etc. Also there are many other societies like society of civil engineering, society of mechanical engineers etc.there are also some cultural societies like music club, rotract club, etc.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni also visits college at regular interval to guide students by organizing many skill development programs, they conduct many event like marathon.they also donate some fund to motivate students who are planning to start their own start up.
Exam Structure
LABS are hectic as well as exam also.however u get many things to learn at labs and increase your practical knowledge, though all the equipment are not updated, but they are enough for u to learn something.Exam are hectic, consists of mid-semester exam, end semester exam, and other internal assessment.
Faculty
Faculty are highly qualified, most of them got their PhD from IIT,also from the foreign universities as well. They also give projects under them to guide students better.Many faculty have published research paper and got awarded for best paper research at international level.
