Life at T.I.C.T

College management is good. No complains about that. They are really managing and improving our college day by day by bringing state of the art facilities. We have 24 hours clean drinking water supply. They ensure the food from the canteen is less on spice and healthy. They really look after the students.

I got into T.I.C.T. after giving West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination and my rank was 24,500. I never expected to get into a Techno Group college but by 4th phase counselling I finally got a chance here and joined.

The course structure is vivid. If one studies the entire curriculum thoroughly, he/she will indeed learn a lot about technologies and their application. For every semester we have 2 internal exams. The first internal consists of half the syllabus and the second internal consists of the full syllabus. Marks of best of the two exams are selected. Teachers take special care for practical classes and during viva they judge how much you have actually learnt.

College does not provide internship. If one is interested in doing an internship, they can contact the department and they will help do the needful.

For core streams i.e. civil, mechanical, electrical chances of getting placed through college is low. Because most of the companies that come to our college are I.T. based. Students from those streams can appear in campus interview but due to their lack of knowledge in programming languages, they are seldom selected. But this year Navy recruited from our college. So you cannot complain. And for C.S.E, I.T. , E.C.E it's the best private college when placements are considered.

We have freshers for the newcomers i.e. 1st year. There is annual college fest where you can take part in drama, robotics, singing, dancing, painting, t-shirt painting etc. The fest is a real good way to get exposure because you compete with other colleges and get to know different aspects.

The fee structure is little bit on the higher side for middle class people. The total expense for 4 years course is around 3.37lacs. If you get in through T.F.W. then it's Rs.1000 per semester i.e. Rs.8000. Honestly speaking, fee for B.Tech. course in any private college is around this much. So it's not that they are charging extra. Every private college under M.A.K.A.U.T has the same fee structure.

No, our college doesn't provide any scholarship within itself. If you have acquired any from outside then you can talk to authorities and they'll sort it out. If you want a loan then you can talk to the bank officials at our college and they'll guide you on how to avail it.

Campus life is really good. Gender ration is also equal. We have yearly cricket and football tournament. Our college has its own field inside the campus. The campus is large. In fest there are various extra curricular activities that you can take part in. There is no politics involved in our college or campus. We also have a large library where you'll find any book for the course you need any time.

I myself do not live in hostel but I have friends who live there so I know. The rooms are not for individuals but you have to share. There are enough rooms and our college has more than 5 hostels to provide accommodation to students. The food is average. You cannot expect home like food there but hygiene is maintained. Hostel charges are around Rs.6000 per month.

Seniors are really helpful. You can approach them and they'll try and solve your problems. They are really friendly.

Attendance is very important. One day in the entire week would be filled with classes. But rest of the days it is a mix of practicals and theory classes. Our labs are really well equipped with 24 hours internet connection. Teachers really provide deep training in practical classes.

Faculty of I.T. department is the best in the entire college. It feels like a second home. Be it a professional or personal problem, you can always approach them and they would give their best to help you. And for studies, they are available 24 hours. They are friendly and guide you well the entire time.
