Remarks

Overall the College is good the environment is good. Facilities are good. PES has made a brand name for itself. It is quite strict in some ways. College is very particular about the attendance. We have 5 marks for attendance. The hostel is comparatively strict, I-e strict in timings, permissions etc. Management is very particular in wearing ID cards. They set tough papers and evaluate strictly. There is no room for lineant correction but in a way it helps us to grow and perform better.

Entrance Preview

I took Karnataka Cet exam. My rank was around 7000. I basically was interested in mechanical stream and this is one of the leading colleges in Bangalore. That's the reason I opted for PES UNIVERSITY.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

But its not that focused on research line. We have a state board for engineering and it recommends the syllabus for each branch. More or less we have the same syllabus. They cover all the topics which an engineer needs to know. Since it is university, they have made a slight change in syllabus. They have options for higher studies and research.

Internships Opportunities

Yes they encourage us to take up internships. Many companies visit our campus and have written test. Based on cgpa eligible people can take up the test and the company selects a few students for internship with decent salary. College encourages to take internships outside also i-e in companies that won't come to college. Overall they provide good facilities for internship.

Placement Experience

4

Placements is decent for all branches. The highest placements is for cs,ec,IS. Unlike other colleges, here they give placement training only in 7th sem. But a good number of companies visit our College for placement. Mechanical, civil branch has less core offers and more IT offers. Since PES is a brand, 80% students get placed in some or the other company.

College Events

4.5

Some or the other event will be happening everyday in our college. Our annual techno fest is called AATMATRISHA, it's pretty famous in Bangalore. It's well organised and promoted . Well renowned people are called for the fest for entertainment. People like sunidhi chauhan etc have come. There is SAMARPANA which felicitates soldiers etc. Independence day and republic day are celebrated. There are various clubs from each branch which organise events etc .There is AMATUEUR SCIENTIST for school students across the country. Students from every state turn up with their science projects for exhibition. There are many other competitions, events organised.

Fee Structure And Facilities

There are 2 ways in which you can take Admission in our College . One is Karnataka cet and the other one is the College entrance called PESSAT. Students who join through cet will have to pay decent fee i-e 50k per year. Students who join through PESSAT will have to pay around 3 lakh per year which is pretty costly.Apart from this hostel fee will come up to 1 lakh per annum.

Fees and Financial Aid

Recently they have started giving scholarships for students who come in the top 20% of the branch . They are given 25% fee waiver. Top 5 % students of the branch are given 5k as scholarship. Students who get sgpa above 8 are given 500 per semester and above 9 sgpa are given 1k per semester.

Campus Life

4.5

It's a good place to grow, showcase your talent. Lot of opportunities and encouragement is given. There are equal number of boys and girls in each Branch, except mechanical and civil. There is a lot of encouragement for sports and other extra curricular activities. They send students for different competitions in and around the state. There are competitions based on science , robotics etc. There is a debating society called MUN.Every one in the campus are treated equally. There is 0% ragging. No discrimination based on sex, color , religion, language etc. Lot of encouragement is given to cultural activities. There are many dance clubs as well.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

There is a college boys hostel within the campus.Girls hostel is 2km from college, they have bus facility without having to pay extra for it. In boys hostel there are 3 seater, 2 seater and single seater rooms. The 3 seater rooms have attached bathrooms. Others have common bathrooms. There is 24 hr hot water , electricity .The mess food is average . There are 3 types of messes, one is south Indian, another north Indian and 3rd one is kinda mixed. North Indian mess is purely vegetarian. Hostel fee will come up to 1 lakh per year which covers food, accommodation, laundry etc. There are good pg 's around the College which charge up to 4k per month with or without food.

Alumni/Alumna

Yeah the is a strong alumni network there is a website itself created for it they are very helpful they keep giving insights about the present scenario. They keep us updated about the new stuff going on alumni 's visit our campus on independence and republic days. They keep updating about the job openings, start ups, internships etc.

Exam Structure

The Main difference in our College when compared to any other college is that, we are relatively graded.Exams days or week before exams are really hectic for most of the students. People who really listen in the class properly and do daily home work are chilled. Lab exams are chilled out usually , since its practical and there's is no need to remember theory.

Admission

I had written Karnataka CET entrance exam. It will be for 180 marks. 60 marks each for math, physics and chemistry. They will consider our 12th marks also. Accordingly we get a rank . There will be document verification first. Then there will be 2 rounds for allotment of seat according to rank. Then we can select our preferred seat in prefered college. Each college will have a cut off for each branch.

Faculty

4

Most of the faculties are well educated . They are fluent un English and can convey to us properly. We have 100 PhD in our college. Some fresh M.Tech professor are there who have knowledge but need experience. Usually they give experienced facilities for 3rd and 4th years.
