Moments of Life at SRM University.

Well as per my experience college management is more than average, means most of the time they do works immediately but few employees are here who won't respond until you complain to senior authorities. Many times i have to complain to Director or HOD, than only they responded. But yeah according to me SRM is great place to learn things.

Frankly speaking i took all entrance exam (IIT JEE, BITSAT, SRMJEE, VIT). I was unable to score good in IIT JEE and BITSAT but i got 8234 rank in SRMJEE. I opted for this college because i have seen the situation of Students at local colleges. They are taught nothing and after four years they have no job not even idea of what they have learned in those 4 years. So as SRM is one of prestigious college in India and have a good placement record, i opted for SRM.

Course structure for Information Technology is very well structured. As IT branch of SRM is accredited by ABET, it follows standard syllabus structure and all regulations given by ABET. Really in computing branches only IT have best course curriculum.

No SRM does not provide internship. But you can apply outside, college gives permission to students to pursue internship during academic time.

Well this is the best thing at srm. Almost every student gets a job in last. Also many reputed companies like SAP, verizon, hitachi, hindustan unilever, Thought works, Amazon, Voonik etc. come to SRM for placements. Placements are really good at srm, atleast like other local colleges students don't have to beg for job.

There are two major events every year, MILAN and Aarush. Also there are regularly workshops and talks are arranged by college students clubs like IT-Association (Ardeur and Furor), wEBARCH, SRMKZILLA, SRM IEEE students chapter etc. Also you will get a chance to participate in many hackathons.

Fee structure for SRM is a little bit high. Tution Fee - 2,15,000 for all branches except aerospace. For aerospace its 3,65,000. There are some additional fee also which you have to pay necessarily. If you won't pay this fee, you will not be allowed to sit for exam. Career development fee - 20000, Exam fee - 2000-4000.

Yes college provides a lot of different types of scholarships to students who perform very well in exams, Top 10 students of every department get scholarship. For sports quota you don't have to pay a single penny for hostel, mess and college. But you won't be allowed to attend a single class either. You have to practice at ground all day.

Campus life is very good at SRM. At SRM there are students from every state of india and also from foreign countries. Gender ratio is very good at SRM. There are many teams(Robocon, SRM-AUV, SRM-ASV, SRM-UAV, Humanoid etc.) in SRM which participate in robotics events at national and international level. Also SRM MOON is international debate event organised every year.

Hostel facilities are good at SRM. Rooms are good. 3 students have to share a room. But mess is very bad. It is really hard for north indian students to survive at Mess food. They don't know how to make chappati, than the quality of food is really low. Half of the students at SRM leave hostel because of food.

Well SRM have a good alumni network. They invite their alumnis to inspire current students and guide them.

Exam structure is good. There will be two cycle tests, one surprise test, one model test and than semester exam. Your final score will consist of 10% of CT1, 10% of CT2, 20% of Model, 5% of Surprise test and 5% of attendance, and remaining 50% will be from your semester exam.

I applied for SRMJEE and than took exam. I got 8234 rank and than invited for counselling. I attended the counselling. I wanted CSE but by the time my number came almost all seats of CSE were over. So i choose IT. But now i am happy that i have choosen IT, because the syllabus for CSE in srm is not as good as of IT. even CSE students admit that syllabus of IT is best in SRM.

Well similar to other colleges there are few teachers who are really talented, but half of them don't have any idea about subject. They are good for nothing and you have to learn everything by yourself. If a teacher is teaching wrong and a students says that it is wrong he will be marked absent directly. So before you choose faculty think twice and ask your seniors about which faculty is good.
