I took the NCHMCT JEE. My rank was AIR 372. I chose IHM Pusa over the other IHMs, IIHMs and other private institutes in India because IHM Pusa is the No.1 ranked hospitality institute in India and has been ranking so since the last 6 years.

The curriculum is very structured based on the needs and requirements of students to learn at every stage of this professional course. Along with the basics of Food Production Operations, Food and Beverage Service Operations, Housekeeping Operations and Front Office Operations; we had Hotel Engineering, Nutrition, Communication, Computers, Food Safety and Quality, Accounts,Research Methodology, Financial Management and Strategic Management. In our IGNOU BHM segment we study Tourism Management, Business English, Human Resource Management, Tourism in India and around the world and Tourism Marketing.

Our course provides internships of 17 weeks from any hotel. The companies which come range from The Oberois, to The Leela. Stipend depends upon the organization but the range can be anything from 2500 to 1000 (may or may not) including accommodation.

Placements are excellent as every company wants students from IHM Pusa. IHM Pusa has had consistent placements of 100% every year till date. A variety of companies visit the college ranging from Hilton Worldwide to Carlson Rezidor, from ITC to The Park hotels, from Samsung to Air India. Packages vary from company wise and job wise.

Our college is always busy with events we especially take part in Swachh Bharat campaigns which has been broadcasted by Doordarshan several times. We have Annual day, Freshers, Teachers day, Independence and Republic days and are always busy with hospitality related events taking place in India or globally recently our college hosted Amaranth, a Pan India Hospitality Fest.

The fee structure is set by the National Council it is feasible as ours is a Central Government Institution an approx 43,000 per semester considering the average of 3 years and 6 semesters the fee structure includes tuition fees, lab fees, locker fees, internet fees, etc the fee is absolutely affordable and well structured and very transparent.

Certain scholarships are offered to SC/ST students. Further information can only be presented on enquiry at the college reception.

In a class of 100, there are about 25 girls we have the usual freshers and annual parties. If the college achieves something important, we have parties we have Theme Lunches where faculty and students organize and participate in everything. We have clubs ranging from Eco to Writers to Cultural TRAS, an intiative by IHM Pusa is being pushed forward to encourage sustainability and environmental awareness. There is no discrimination whatsover of gender, caste, religion, etc. No politics Special care is taken to handle harassment complaints.

We have a Boys' and a Girls' Hostel three sharing rooms present in both hostels. Single rooms present in Boys the facilities are very good. Several game equipments, TV lounge present Mess food is excellent with rotational menus and special menus. PG rentals are also present nearby in Patel Nagar and Inderpuri areas.

IHM Pusa always has an annual alumni meet. The alumni group is called PIHMAA we have a rich alumni base. Some of our notable alumni include Chef Sanjeev Kapoor, Chef Manjit Gill, K.B. Kachru, Chef Sudhir Sibal, Mandeep S. Lamba, etc.

Exams and labs are on different dates always. Exams are of 3 hours and 100 marks paper labs depend upon the kind of evaluation and may stretch to 5 hours max externals come in for viva and evaluation during labs special emphasis is given on grooming, always we have labs everyday for 4 hours so we are used to it being hectic it is not overwhelming at all after a long day we can relax.

My father found the advertisment of NCHMCT JEE on the newspaper. I registered online by providing all my details. I was issued an admit card and test center. I gave the entrance exam. After declaration of rank, I underwent one round of counselling then admission on the second round. The overall administration was good. Most of the work happened online, other than admission. There were seniors and faculty present at every step to guide and advise.
