National Institution of Fashion Technology, kannur is a govt college. It is located in Dharmashala locality. NIFT provide post graduation course in fashion management and in master in design. I am interested in fashion management that's why i choose this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

For admission in post graduation course candidate have to appear for GAT and GD/PI round.first candidate appear for General Ability Test. then those are are selected in the exam have to go for Group Discussion (G D) and Personal Interview(P I). course is for 2 years and divided into 4 semester. all course is practical based. Faculties are expert and give practical training.

Course Fees: INR 600000 per year

After completing master degree in Fashion Management you become professional. you can also become the job creater.

Campus is beautifully constructed. It is a govt college and under ministry of textile so renovation is made year to year. As there are many labs related to courses so machineries are added in the labs. There are thousand of students which have come from all parts of the country. It create variety of diversity here. social life is very good in campus as we meet new students every day. Pongal is celebrated with great enthusiasm and excitement.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facility is available. There is a boys and girls hostel in the campus. menu in the mess is changed after every two days. mess food is healthy. hostel is allowed only to those who follow hotel rules. If you want to vocate the hostel then you have to give prior intimation to the warden of the hostel.

Hostel Fee: INR 50000 per year

Towards the fourth year, students become eligible for campus placement. There are no companies visited . The average package is above 10000for per month. Almost 45% of students get placements. After getting the degree I want to work as a staff nurse.

Student Experience at NIFT

I had applied to different courses, like law or architecture. But I didn't pursue the above said courses as NIFT gave me a better opportunity to dive into different streams and more interesting perspectives. There was no rejection from any college. There is an entrance exam for B.Des- which consists of 2 written tests - creative aptitude test and genetal aptitude test, followed by a situation test and then admission counselling. I didn't really applied for any other college as my preference was only fixed to national institute. As you know the status and prestige a national institute holds compared to any other private colleges.
