I would like to conclude that SRM is a very good private university where every one lives in peace and enjoy themselves. If needed ,people are more than willing to help others.One such example was the time during Chennai floods in 2015. During this time ,the college campus was heavily flooded while most of the students were sent home,there were some who were trapped in their hostels college made special arrangements for the students stay in a tall academic building there the students were served food and generators were on so that students can talk with their parents. So i personally feel that SRM is an awesome place to do your engineering.

The examinations I opted for were IIT JEE, BITSAT, VITJEE, SRMJEE, UPTU. The main reason of ]choosing Mechanical Engineering in SRM was because of the platform this institute provides to it's students via the course structure, projects and the experience gained in the laboratory. All India entrance examination of college was held at the nearest town and an objective based ]examination was held. A decent rank in the examination led to the very first step of entering the list of selected applicants.Call letter form college was issued.

The course structure provides in depth knowledge about each and every subject. The subjects included in the course were- Fourier mathematics, Statistics and probability, Numerical methods, Basic mechanical engineering, engineering mechanics, basic civil engineering, basic electrical engineering, materials technology, strength of materials, thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, thermal engineering, vibrations, metrology, materials technology, design of transmission systems. Over the past years, there have been a lot developed in the areas, but I think the Indian colleges need to advance the courses as the subjects taught are not up to date. The course still constitutes the topics being taught over the years. The basics are important, but advancement is necessary too.

Yes ,the college provides the option for a student to do internship in summer or winter break.But there's no companies in perticular coming to SRM and taking students for internship.

The fee structure of SRM Btech is kinda expensive according to me.The fee structure is as follows: Registration fee:Rs 15,000 tution fee:Rs 1,85,000 Book fees: Rs 15,000 career Development Fees: Rs 15,000 all the above fees has to be paid every year to the college except for the registration fee which is a one time thing apart from this,examination fees of approx Rs 3000 has to be paid every semester for attending external exams.

SRM offers scholarship in form of 50% fee wavier to students who have scored more than 90% marks in Physics chemistry and Maths(or Biology) in 12th board examination.

Hostel Facilities are quite good in SRM kattankulathur campus.There are three types of hostels:w/o AC 3 sharing, AC 3 sharing and 2 sharing with attached washroom w/o AC 3 sharing :common bathroom : Rs 38,000, with AC 3 sharing :personal bathroom : Rs 1,20,000, w/o AC 2 sharing :personal bathroom : Rs 40,000 the bathrooms are cleaned on a daily basis and hostel rooms are cleaned daily.Water supply is 24X7 and theres instant electricity backup fogging is done to prevent mosquito breeding .Laundry services are available which pickup and deliver at students convince 1st year students have to compulsorily stay in hostels where as from 2nd year students can stay outside.Many PG and housing societies are available with excellent facilities.

Interactions with seniors has been very helpful to every one of us freshers might be scared talking t seniors thinking that they might do their ragging but that's not the case in SRM. In SRM,ragging is a highly punishable offence and an anti ragging committee has been setup to ensure that no fresher suffers from ragging. Various programmes are held by the seniors for the freshers as a part of BREAKING THE ICE,like dancing ,music,debates..etc.

The exams and labs are hectic in 2nd and 3rd years in fourth year,everything gets chill because 4th year guys have to concentrate on placements. We have 2 cycle tests of 10 marks each,then a model exam of 20 marks. That's 40 marks of internals. Then there 5 marks for attendance and 5 marks for surprise test. That's 50 marks of internals the rest 50 marks are for external exams or finals.

Selected the particular course of Mechanical Engineering the college administration was very helpful in the process as it was all to be done via the students themselves, being the very first step to handling situations and taking crucial decisions at the early age of 18.

The faculty in the college is one of the most up to date one can find. The professors are aware of the recent technologies in the respective field. Most of them are pursuing research in the field of their interest. Most of the teachers are senior grade professors who have years of experience and knowledge.Faculty is very helpful as they understand the problems of the students and help them in every way possible to make our engineering easy for the students.
