My college life

The main reason for choosing this college was that it is a government college. Many companies have MOUs with the government due to this they are placing more amount of students. So placement is always good than many other colleges also better than many other government colleges as L.D college has become a brand in its self. So even if you go outside campus interview you will be having plus point than others. The campus is also the main attraction of the college spread in 36 urban acres. All the buildings of campus have renovated in 2018 except hostel building. The hostel building is not good at all.

As I had a deep interest in the machine I selected this branch. There are 42 faculties in mechanical branch. Generally, all the facilities are very chill in nature they don't annoy you. Though there are some who will make your life hell they are less in number. But all of them are very supportive if you show some interest in what they are teaching. If you start any project all of them will guide you and will help you in many ways. There are some faculties who are PhD from IITs, some from other reputed colleges. Rest of them have done M.E from IITs and other big colleges. Teaching is been done in traditional ways but now they are adopting new ways like case studies, industrial visits, presentations so students can get practical knowledge. In every sem, they conduct one mid sem exam and one university exam for every subject. If you want to pass the exams you have to at least clear the basics of that subject otherwise you won't pass the exam.

As college has MOUs with many companies. There are many opportunities regarding internships. Some students got internships from mainstream companies but there is not that much vacancy provided for internships so many of the students go for off-campus internships. There are many startups running in and outside the college which are providing internships but some of them will provide you stipend while some will not give stipend. I haven't done any internship yet but this is all I can say about internships.

Generally from 7th sem college is allowing to give placement interviews. Some of the companies are also allowing by 6th sem. Companies like TCS, Accenture, Tata, L&T, honda, Suzuki, Adani, etc. This company placed 77 students from the mechanical branch(60% of that 2019 batch) in 2019 and +570 students from all over colleges. Highest package secured was around 12lakh per annum from CE students and 6~7 lakh per annum from mechanical students. The general package provided is approx. 3 lakhs per annum. My plan after B.E is to open start up so I and my friends are working to get fundings from SSIP cell.

As it is a government college fees are negligible compared to another self-finance college. Yearly college fees are around 1500 to 2500 INR. Plus 850 INR for university exam registration per sem. There 2 scholarship scheme which is more popular in college. MYSY (Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavalamban Yojana). Digital Gujarat scholarship. If you are a hostel student you will get approx. 18000 INR and if you are from Ahmedabad you will get 10000 INR. If you are a mechanical student than there is an advance facility in college called KEEPSAKE welding facility. If you complete there course they will hire you and give stipend according to you caliber.

L.d college is famous for its technical fests all over Gujarat. Fests name Lakhya festival (February), Tarang (October), Sahitya Sarita (January), Kaizen, Rang amezi (February), LAA festival. In college, there's a separate small building containing library and reading centre. In the library, you will get all the references books, technical magazines, daily newspaper, self-development books, etc. Classroom is very good as they are renovated recently. Basic appliances like fans, lights are good and some the classes also have projectors too for presentations. Sports clubs are also available for different sports like cricket, football, Valleyball, tennis, chess, badminton, etc. They also arrange different sports events and completions.
