Remarks
The experience of freshers in college would be studded with an immense variety of emotions apart from a sense of excitement. Just remember what happened to Rancho & Co in the movie “3 Idiots!”. Although quite unlike it, the mere "first day away from home" feeling does engulf you. That is to say, until you find a mate who, more often than not is bound to abound for life! We would indeed feel rather perplexed. "A Home away from home" read the post. Gone were the days when good-old-mommy used to feed us at home! As slowly but steadily relationships were made and acquaintances became friends, life appeared a bit brighter. The after-effects of the overrated Board examinations and holidays marred by Entrance-exams began to wear off. It’s pretty definite that suddenly and inevitably.
Course Curriculum Overview
In a two month stint of the DU, I got a fair idea of how a DU student's life is. The faculty of all colleges of DU is well qualified but depending on the status of each college in each department the experience of teachers may vary. The faculties resort to the usage of English as well as Hindi for a clear understanding of the student. The curriculum follows a continuous evaluation throughout the semester and keeps the students at their toes.
Internships Opportunities
Many companies came to our College like TATA, TELCO and many more companies. The highest placement package recorded in DU was Rs 37.7 LPA by a student of LSR College of Women in 2019. Talking about placement trends of the same year, Hindu College witnessed the highest increase from Rs 29 LPA to Rs 31 LPA. Also, a BA Economics (Hons) student from St. Stephen’s College bagged a placement package of Rs 31 LPA, from consultation firm Ernst and Young-Parthenon.
Placement Experience
The placement cell of our college is continuously working hard and giving their best to provide good placements to the students. They keep updating the students about the recruitments through WhatsApp group and send the link and called up for the interviews. And there are certain steps like Intelligence test, GD, Personal interview.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees charged for the course is satisfactory. Only a few students get the scholarship facilities so that's poor. The fee of B.Com is 6825/year. Our college provides free concession scholarship to the students who are not financially good. Students have to fill the form and then they are called for the interview with the documents.
Campus Life
Size of the library is good enough around 50-60 students can sit and read in the library, the campus has the best infrastructure and good wifi connectivity. Sports faculties are the best in the college as the teachers are very supportive and provide sports equipment to the students. The course syllabus is up to date. And our commerce department faculties is the best faculties in the college. Yes, the college also provides industrial exposure as there are certain educational trips for commerce students as well as for BA students.
