Remarks
Overall college management was ok. But definitely they could do better in terms of hiring better professors. That would be a good asset for the college and for the overall reputation.
Entrance Preview
Maharashtra Joint Entrance, Scored 75%. I wanted at least Electronics and Communication or Instrumentation. Based on the marks I got in the entrance examination and the location choices, this college looked. Also, the college was ranked B grade among the colleges in that area.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is quite good. It had total eight semesters and there were sufficient courses in each of them. There was a healthy balance between practicals regular papers. There was not much focus on research. Students had to be independent enough to prune their skills or try out any research oriented activities.
Internships Opportunities
No the college did not provide any kind of internships. But individual students could do summer internships on their own which lot many of us did to have a better exposure to industry. We usually did this during our summer vacations.
Placement Experience
Almost zero placements and the management did not care either. But as I said students knew this before hand and most of us who were serious really tried on their own to get placed as soon as they pass out. We started from basic offers and most of us got good breakthroughs on their own capabilities
College Events
We used to have yearly college festivals where people used to demonstrate their extra curricular skills and management skills. Since, there were lot of organisation activities to be done, we learned people management skills and how to organise an event.
Fees and Financial Aid
No scholarship at all. Also, no loan facility provided by the college or administration. But one could take private loans but it was completely upto the students own effort and their family.
Campus Life
Gender ratios were not very good. It was mostly male dominated. There were lot of workshops which were good. Student diversity was excellent. we had students from all corners of the country and that was very good. There were no issues regarding tolerance. Overall the campus had a healthy atmosphere to grow.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumnus is good. The seniors were very helpful and they encouraged us a lot. Few of them helped the juniors to get offers in their organisation or at least guide them to get a quick break. They protected their juniors and kept in touch with us.
Exam Structure
Exams were conducted twice yearly. They usually got completed in 10 days and there were 1-2 days gaps in between them. I think the gaps were sufficient if one prepared we ll during the semesters. Also, before the exams we used to have 2-3 weeks preparatory leaves which were really helpful.
Admission
After the entrance examination, we had to travel to Mumbai to go through the centralized administration process. Our class XII credentials were verified manually. There we could see all the colleges and courses offered and the choices we can make. Once decided, we had to conform our college selection and then travel to the college to complete the final registration process.
Faculty
The faculty of the college was very average. It was up to the students to study and get their skills updated. Not much help from the college administration. There were only a handful of teachers who were worthy enough with good amount of teaching experience and sufficient skills. Rest were just college pass outs.
