Remarks

I chose the mechanical branch from IIT ROPAR, after studying research works in the mechanical field (mentioned in the mechanical department of the official website of IIT ROPAR) and nanotechnology. It was exciting to acknowledge that I belong to the same branch as that of the director of the institute ( S.K.Das). Although the lectures are going okay in online mode, the only demerit during COVID is the lack of hands-on exposure in labs.

Course Curriculum Overview

The per month frequency of quizzes and End Sem exams, is quite hectic, as the syllabus covering is at a high pace. But as a Teaching Assistant is assigned to a group of around 30 students it is comfortable to roll on.

Internships Opportunities

Microsoft, Saavn, Arista Networks, Snapdeal, Flipkart, TT Consultant, JCB are major companies for internship on campus. At least 40 working days are compulsory for a summer internship from the institute.

Placement Experience

More than 90 percent of students get placed in Computer Science and Engineering. The average package is above 12 lakhs per student. IIT ROPAR is ranked 25 in engineering institutes ranking by NIRF. Overall 80 percent or more students get placed per year. I am planning for research after MTech in Mechanical Engineering.

Fees and Financial Aid

From time to time information is updated via mail regarding NSP (National Scholarship Portal) to the students via broadcast facilities. SC and ST students need to pay around Rs. 15000 /semester. Specially abled students and girls are provided additional scholarship from institute.

Campus Life

FinCOM (Finance, Consulting, and Management), Dramatics, Arturo (Photography), Vibgyor (Arts), Alankar(Music) are very active clubs in the institute. The largest cultural fest in the North region ZEITGEIST is organized annually in December in the institute.

Hostel Facilities

For freshers, 2 students need to share their room. Ceiling Fan (No AC yet), cupboard, bed, window, hangers, balcony(with a wonderful view of the campus) are provided in the hostel. Registration is done via hostel caretaker (for freshers, Chenab hostel-- west wing is allocated).

MY HONEST REVIEW ABOUT MY COLLEGE LIFE

Placement Experience:

from 6th semester students become eligible for the placements and they should not have any backolgs or reappers in the exam and they should have morethan then 5 cgpa . as i am from the 2nd yeari donot know more aboutm the placement offered made but the average packagr is 3.5 to 4 lakhs per annual and around 70 to 80 percent of students are get selected in placement . and planns after getting the degree is to do higher studies in aerospace designing in the aircrafts.

Placement Experience:

Here, the placement drive starts at the beginning of the 5th semester and goes till the end of the 8th semester. Here, all MNC like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Capgemini, and many other companies come to our campus for hiring. In the very last year 2 students got selected with a prestigeous 2.5cr & 1 cr packages.

Placement Experience:

From 5th semester onwards students are eligible for the campus placement. Either they get internship or they get placement offers . Number of companies visited are more than 50. I will give some examples of some best companies like google , microsoft, accenture, virtusa, lenovo , Paypal, shadii. Com , JP morgan and many more other good companies visit to our college. Highest package last year was 52 lakh and the average package was 6 lakhs . More than 70 percent Student are getting placement. My plans after the degree is to get a good job in a good company

An honest Insight of my college LPU

Placement Experience:

The course curriculum should be rated on how useful and complete it is. A good one covers all important topics like Software , Networking , Automata , SQLetc. it is mix theory and practical work . For CSE studendent there are coding laguage like C++ in 3rd sem and DSA in 4th semester.

The best out of best about iit ropar

I applied to iit gandhinagar electrical engineering and got rejected as my jee advanced rank was not as par as required to take the course.the admission process of our college is based on an examination called jee advanced and if u get a good rank and pass that examination u can enter our college.i also applied for iit hyd,iit jodhpur etc in which I have got an admission in another branch as I said earlier as I like the electrical engineering branch I joined iit ropar .or college might be worst in sports in comparison to other iits but they are always better than other iits in reasearch orientation side...Read More
