Remarks
1) NMIMS is a college which is very famous and has lived up to the standards and the hype.I took admission in MBA (Tech), an integrated program of NMIMS where I get BTech + MBA, and that too in 5 years (a year less than a normal BTech followed by a normal MBA). Here, I save one year, plus I get a proper MBA from NMIMS, which is the second-best University for Management, with only IIM being better than NMIMS. Students get a great campus placement package for MBA. 2) Usually, the entrance exam takes place by April end, and results are out by May end, but due to COVID, my entrance took place in Early July, results were out by July End 2020. 4) Location of the college: While I was getting admission in the main Vile Parle Campus, I chose the Navi Mumbai one instead, as this campus was much closer to my house. Also, not that many great reputed colleges are there in Navi Mumbai. 5) Some family friends had studied in NMIMS, they talked highly of both the college and the course.
Course Curriculum Overview
1) MBA (Tech) course is an integrated dual degree program, where one gets two degrees, one of BTech, and one of MBA in Technology Management (with a Major and Minor in your chosen specializations like Finance, HR, etc.) from the NMIMS University. As it is known that NMIMS is second to IIM in terms of Management Colleges, I chose to join NMIMS. 2) Almost all core faculties have a doctorate. Though Visiting faculties don't have doctorates, even Masters sometimes, they have great experience in the industry. My Computer Guest Faculty for Semester 1, Anand sir, has 30 years of experience in L&T. 3) Exams are taken right on time. Even during the pandemic, the NPAT Entrance Exam was conducted Online, with proper proctoring. The mid-terms were taken on time as well. Due to some grievances raised by the students, the term ends were postponed by 10-15 days, and that too only for resolving the problems faced by students. 4) Faculty: Student ratio - Can't tell as I haven't been to the college.
Internships Opportunities
Colllege does offer 2 internships, one Technical and one Management Internship, in the course of five years, but I haven't got any of these yet. The first batch of this college will get their internships in Feb or March 2021.
Placement Experience
No placements did from this campus yet, as this campus was established in 2017, and the first batch passes out in 2022. But, the main campus has average packages of 17 LPA, with Highest even going to 30 LPA. Almost all campuses of NMIMS have similar placements, and Navi Mumbai city has a lot of Big MNCs which can serve as ideal placements for BTech+MBA students. I plan to take campus placement in a nearby MNC and get the experience of the corporate sector for a few years while preparing for govt job exams.
Fees and Financial Aid
1) As I'm in Sem 1, cannot tell much about the Fees hike. My campus charges 3.02 LPA fees, while the main campus charges 4.5 LPA (these are w/o hostel), but ultimately it's worth the money, as you'll save one year, and will even graduate with an MBA, (which costs abt 10LPA from any reputed institute). 2) I got no Job or Internship from College yet (as am in Sem 1). If you're from a reserved category, you can get some scholarships, if you get admission through an entrance test. I don't really know much about Financial Assistance yet.
Campus Life
Not been to campus yet, but what I heard from seniors, it's a magnificently beautiful and culturally very active college. Many fests. College doesn't have personal ground, but students play at gymkhana, and even go for tournaments. This year, all fests were conducted virtually. Libraries are luxurious, have a lot of books (all those mentioned in ur syllabus) and even Newspapers. AC classrooms and Libraries. Colossal campus with brilliant classrooms. Many clubs, like Singing, Dancing, PR, Cultural, etc can be joined by students.
Interview Experience
1) I had an online-proctored (due to COVID) entrance exam, called NPAT. This was a 2-hour long exam similar to JEE, but much easier than JEE. 30 Questions each from PCM, 20 Questions of Logical Reasoning, and 10 of English, making it 120 Questions for 120 minutes. 2) Post the result of NPAT Exam, there was a Zoom meeting, where Personal Counselling was done for admission, with various queries of mine being resolved. 3) If you're preparing for JEE or MHT CET, you are doing more than enough to come in the Top 1000 Rank (which allows you to choose any branch and any campus).
Other Applied Colleges
VGTI | BTech (CSE)
As I was getting MBA in NMIMS, along with integrated BTech in CSE
