Abhijeet Shrivastava's Review On GH Raisoni College Of Engineering - [GHRCE], Nagpur, Nagpur

I scored 72 Marks in SEEE 2011 , i chose this college because i wanted to complete my engineering from an autonomous institution. I personally knew many alumni of this college were in very good professional positions.

Since the college is autonomous therefore we always had the latest in trend subjects & not the outdated subjects which were there in the University syllabus. There was one extra co-curricular subject in every semester where you had a option to chose between many (for eg. Horse riding , learning a foreign language, trekking etc).

Under graduates coarse students were not provided stipend , since i was an under graduate coarse student so i didn't get any stipend , but i think the post graduate students get stipend for teaching the under grads.

Many MNC's come to the college. GHRCE is the flagship college of Raisoni group , so whichever company comes for offering placements in the Raisoni group compulsorily visits GHRCE. Some prominent recruiters are TCS , LNT Infotech , Capgemini , Infosys , Wipro , Persistent , Infocepts , Zensar etc.

GHRCE is known for its vibrant cultural festivals in Nagpur , there are two main events in the college. College main event named as "Antragini" , this is an inter college event where students from other colleges also come for participating .There are cultural as well as sport events in this college festival.

In terms of fees the college is more as compared to the university colleges , i hail from general category so for me the fees was around 1.2 Lakhs per annum , but the fees is less for the non general category students if the admission is being taken from the state level counselling process , that fees is in accordance with the government policies.

I didn't take education loan but had friends who had opted for this , they had taken education loan from State bank of India.

The gender ration in college was i around 6:4 i.e amongst every 10 students 6 boys and 4 were girls. One think which i admire about this college is its diversity , there are people coming in from every part of India , there were people from Arunachal pradesh too & i had never seen any event of gender,ethnicity,economic status discrimination.

College has a dedicated department for Alumni named as GHRCE Alumni foundation , there is an inflow of regular emails from this network which aims at connecting the alumni with the college at various levels.
