BCET DURGAPUR HONEST REVIEW- INFRASTRUCTURE IS GOOD BUT NO TEACHING ABILITY

The very good aspect of my college is the infrastructure and the campus, some of the teachers are very much co-operative but you cannot rely on some of the teachers. The college has two playgrounds also, so it is good for sports students. The negative or bad aspects are the curriculum, teaching in this college is very much average, they tech but every teacher there is pure Bengali, so sometimes they are not understandable. The admission process is very much good of this college, it provides admission through wbzee and direct admission. There is no quota is this college. The only reason to refer to this college is the infrastructure and if the student if Bengali, nothing else. I used shiksha, Quora, and various social pages while selecting a college.

The curriculum of this college is not very much interesting. I chose this course because I was always into computer science from my schooling days only. And I am very much interested in coding, so chose this course. Faculty and student ratio is bad. Facilities keep changing, I don't know why in fact I am between semester also. Qualification of faculties are not up to the mark, they are just graduated and come here to take some experience and then leave the college in between semesters. Teaching methods of some of the teachers are very poor, they some times are least understandable. Term exams held timely but the dates and notices are always given 2-3 days before which is very disappointing.

Campus placements are offered here. But are very limited and only comes to sales jobs. Which is very disappointing for CSE students. Some of the companies visited here are byjus, Flipkart, Amazon, TCS, Wipro etc. The highest package offered was from byjus in sales of 9 LPA. 50% of the students get placed here. After getting the degree I will not take any sales job here. rather I will go off-campus or do gate preparation.

The fee structure is very bad if we compare with the facilities and study they provide. The fee hike is 1000 per semester. And cost to study id very much not acceptable. Here no scholarships are provided, its only rumour. Finance assistance is also not given here. There are no on-campus jobs given till now. The conditions herein these terms are very poor.

There is no social life on this campus. No annual fest is conducted here. If students initialise also thena also funds are not provided. Availability of books are average dome times it comes late but it comes. Amenities in the classroom is zero. Only a chair for teacher and bench for students, nothing else. Sports are carried out pretty good, extracurricular activities are also nice in this college. There are also many social groups, clubs but they are not consistent, like NSS, CODE VISION, ROBOTICS.
