Remarks
DMCE is situated in Airoli and I stay in Thane. So it was very convenient for me in terms of traveling. Students take college which is far away and they don't get time to study. Also, it is near the station which is very convenient. If you are from Civil, Comps, I.T, you have a high chance of getting placed. For other branches, you have to work hard to get placed. The overall campus is average. Now there is a canteen in the college which was not available before. Lift is also accessible for students as the building has 11 floors. The staff is also nice in terms of teaching. One of the things I don't like about this college is the long queue for the railway concessions, taking results and other office work. I stopped taking railway concession as I had to miss 2-3 lectures for that. And one more disadvantage is that there is no ground for the college. So it is not that active in sports except on Sports day. Fests in college are average but fun. The admission process is simple, it starts around June.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Electronics because I had fewer marks in CET. You need at least 100+ in CET to get I.T/Comps. You get admission in Electronics branch easily. The seats for Electronics are around 80 but this year it will reduce more. All the faculties are M.E or P.H.D and well qualified and experienced. There are very few staff members who are young. The teaching method differs from different faculties. Some professors teach conceptually while some teach in terms of scoring. Passing exams depends upon our preparation for a particular subject. Please study well for M3 or you will fall in great trouble if you fail in that. Keep your attendance average above 75% and all the internal marks and term work will be secured. For external exams, you will pass according to your study strategy. All the terms are at the same time for all the colleges and so the schedule, as well as the question paper, is provided by Mumbai University.
Placement Experience
From 7th Sem, you become eligible for the campus. So the criteria of the companies differ but the basic and common criteria are 60% average with no live KTs. Capgemini, LTI, Accenture, TCS have strict criteria. Apart from that companies like Ugam have no criteria, so all students can apply. Most of the companies are I.T based companies. Selec is the only company which is good for Core Electronics. The highest package is an average of 7.5 L. I.T and Comps have the highest percentage of placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
For first-year and the Final year, the fees are around 1Lakh. In the 2nd and 3rd year, fees are around 80-90K. (For Open Category). For other Caste, fees differ according to their respective caste. There are scholarships available for everyone, you can apply for them. Also, EBC is available for people having a less annual income. In terms of jobs, very reputed companies are available on the campus with an average package of 3.5 L.
Campus Life
So there is a Fest once in a year named "Milestone". It is a cultural fest where you can showcase your talent. It is scheduled mostly in the Even Sem. So before the Milestone, there are College Days and also Sports Days. Everything is decided by a committee named the Students Council. Apart from these events, there is an event named Technitude which is scheduled in odd seems where every branch has its own technical events. These events are handled by the committees of their respective branches. For books and journals, there is a library with all the books you need for reference. In the classroom, you will get a comfortable bench with a Projector and a whiteboard as well. The most famous social group in college is the NSS which does social work.
