Computer Science made better at SPIT

SPIT has the best branches of engineering in the college. The admission process conducted is smooth. It is one of the top five best colleges for engineering in Mumbai. I preferred this college over others because the faculty, infrastructure, and environment provided to the students are awesome for students to grow in. The link for college website is www.spit.ac.in. The college has always encouraged students to participate in curricular as well as extracurricular activities and earn honors for themselves as well as the college.

Since childhood, I had been amazed by the growth in the domain of computer science. This pulled me to take the stream. Each department in the college has a number of professionally educated faculty who give their best for imparting education to the students. Most of the teachers are Ph.D. in teaching or pursuing Ph.D. Apart from them, there are some teachers who have one or multiple doctorates. Some of the teachers have completed their graduation from top IITs of India. All this helps the teachers to make the curriculum better and student-friendly. Term exams were conducted regularly and were easy enough. If the concepts of the course are clear enough, one can easily score a 9+ pointer out of 10.

College offers students to take on campus as well as off-campus internships. The college has its own incubator which provides internships for its students. Projects undertaken include technical as well as non-technical.

Students are encouraged to take internships from the moment they are confident and can handle responsibility. They are eligible for placements after semester 4. Approximately 60+ companies visit the campus every year and they take an average of 4-5 offers. For instance, the highest package can be 40+lpa from Microsoft. 90-100% placements happen every year. My plan after getting the degree is to acquire a placement and work with the organization.

The fee hike policy is not heavy. The cost to study is approx 1.3 lacs per year for the general category. Special category students are exempted from tuition fees which reduce their cost to study to a small amount. Scholarships and financial assistance are provided which can be understood from the college website. Campus placements are on bloom from SPIT always. Students are recruited to big companies like PhonePe, Microsoft, Google, etc.

The annual fest of Oculus is conducted. Apart from this sports fest and tech fest is also conducted with great pompous and show. They are usually conducted after term exams or midterm exams so that students can willingly participate and not worry about the exams. All the books and journals of the curriculum are available in the library. Sports are played on the campus. Teams also play for intercollegiate events. Many clubs and websites are run by students. Example: CSI, FACE, etc.
