Remarks
VIT has great infrastructure. Ragging, smoking, and drinking is very strictly prohibited here. Also on Saturday and Sunday students can go out for having a tour of Chennai. A huge number of facilities like GYM, SWIMMING POOL, AUDITORIUMS, AND CAFETERIA are present inside. Food in hostel mess is average leveled. The average package is almost 6-7 lacks with a maximum of 40LPA and a minimum of 3.6LPA. Maximum being obviously CSE. Phillips, bosch, Microsoft, etc are some of the main recruiters.VIT is greatly known for its fests. Although in covid pandemic teaching and learning is hindered.I got admission by a merit basis this year(due to covid scene) and got admission in VIT CHENNAI (EEE) . Usually, VITEEE is given to join VITs.This college is very much reputed in terms of education, placement, location and infrastructure. Hence i chose it over others.
Course Curriculum Overview
I took EEE Course, Electrical and Electronics engineering in VIT CHENNAI. EEE is one of the best courses, all govt. Jobs need electrical workers and this degree makes you a versatile person who has not only gppd knowledge of electrics but also chemistry, physics, and programming. Around every 35 to 40 students there is one faculty. The faculties can pretty much focus in each student and clarify the doubts of almost all students. All the facilities are pretty much qualified and have good knowledge of topics. 2 types of Term exams are done. (CAT & FAT) One is done after every 4 modules (out of 8 are over) know as CAT with one final exam for each sem known as FAT. Teachers teach and make them understand the basics in class and gives notes as well and make the student do sums as well for each topic explained. Notes are shared as PDF 2CAT AND ONE FAT IN each Semester. It's difficult but with a good grip on basics, one can score good marks. More practice will get more grip on subjects.
Placement Experience
From the 7th semester onwards students are eligible for the placements only after they completed their 180 credits. Many many companies have visited like TCS, MICROSOFT, BOSCH, Amazon, Flipkart Capegemi, Cognizant. I don't have an idea if exact figures but it will be over 2k offers The average placement is 6 to7 lacs whereas the highest offered is 41L. Minimum is 3L Around 70 to 80% of students get placed. My plans after Degrees are mixed. Will go for a job. Parallelly give CDSE, INET, will Give exams like CAPF and govt exams to get a govt. Job. Also will aim at a private job as a backup.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure here is quite difficult to understand. There are 5 categories. These are filled based on ranking and seat availabilities. Category 1 has the lowest fees that are 1.73L whereas Category 5 has the highest fees nearing 5L a yr (only tuition fees). It's worth the money one spends on VIT as a good education is provided in return. There aren't many scholarships. People who top the VITEEE exams get scholarships. I didn't get any scholarship as I didn't get any such great rank. Study loan can be taken for payment of fees.
Campus Life
There are many fests conducted in VIT like Riveria, vibrance, hackathon, etc. The dates aren't official though. VIT CHENNAI has a huge library where one can get any kind of nook he needs, all kind of knowledge related help is provided. The librarian also helps students who want to get their researches published in journals. The classroom is big and 1-semester guys aren't given an AC classroom, but every classroom has 2 to 4 blackboards. Every class has good and reliable benches. There's a big cricket, basketball ground also it has a soccer field with nets to practice. It also has a GYM and swimming pool. There are many cluns run by students like IEEE chapters also apps like VIT SPOT for helping students.
