Remarks

This college has always been produced quality students from the three streams( computer science, it and textile as of 2005) and they all are now placed in renowned companies throughout india and world. This college has definitely induced quality self lear

Entrance Preview

JEE, i was ranked 2541 in jee and chosen this college since my family could not afford other private college which has exorbitant fee structures. Overall this college had good name that time of producing good students, so i chosen this college. also the added advantage was that i got the hostel facility which was beneficial to me.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Good, the course curricula was good and was given by wbut since the college was under the aegis of west bengal university of technology. Faculty-wise it was good although the number of faculty was a bit less than adequate that time( during 2001-2005). However the faculties present that time was good in terms of technical expertise and teaching techniques. The course curriculum was in line with what needed to be to be a good it engineer. If some students give their best attention to studies as per the curriculum he/she is bound to achieve good results.

Internships Opportunities

Good. I took the internship in the fourth year under a private company which was good and lots of other students got good chance of internship in different other institutes( private and public sector companies). Some of my friends did good training under renowned organisations and received good stipends at that point of time, that was arranged personally though, nowadays the situation might have changes with better internship facilities arranged for students and stipends to students. if somebody have consistent good results throughout he/she is bound to do good internship and achieve good stipends etc.

Placement Experience

3

Not pretty good as of year 2005, i was selected in an off campus interview. Since i had a good learning from the college i succeed. Currently the situation might have changed and i have heard companies are coming to my college. The placement opportunities were not very good at that time when i finished my studies. But the scenario must have changed now.

College Events

3.5

Reunion event, biswakarma and saraswati festivals etc. The reunion was the most exciting event spanning 3-4 days where college alumni gathers and shares their current work experiences making it very useful for the current students. Also its generally followed by lunch and renowned bands performing making it very enjoyable to the students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure was almost 12000/- per annually as tuition fees considering a government college it was comparatively lesser than most other private college. College hostel facility was good and fulfilling for the self development of a student. It was definitely feasible in the year 2001-2005 that i studied in the college. There was separate hostel change which was also affordable. And most probably there was no other charges at that time.

Fees and Financial Aid

For scheduled cast candidates government was preparing separate scholarship facility. For general candidates there was no scholarship as far as my knowledge.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life was exciting and full of good experiences. Labs were of fairly good quality for different computer subjects, there were annual sports events conducted which i loved to attend and win prizes. There were also some competitions conducted such as annual cultural events, debates etc which we enjoyed to participate. Also there was scope for students who wanted to do some extra in lab.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel facilities were good and arrangement of mess food was generally arranged by a student for every month. So the quality of food varies on every month. The lunch and dinner was arranged on daily basis. tThe lunch time was from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon. o

Alumni/Alumna

There is an alumni network which makes it easy for alumni to connect to the current students etc. Also the junior students keep contact with senior people always which makes it easy in terms of conveying any off or on campus placement opportunities. As an alumni i always convey any news related to fresher recruitment to my junior students.

Exam Structure

It was hectic, but good in terms of content etc. The exams conducted were correctly evaluated and were good in content.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
