In general good college for branches like CS/IS/EC/EEE/MECH placements in core companies are still low compared to that in IT companies which is a huge criteria when people sort the college now a days things have improved a lot with time hands down one of the top 5 best colleges in the city for engineering.

CET-2011 I scored about 5K rank and took Mechanical Engineering as the industry interface is quite good here now DSAT is the the only way as it has become a university.

The course curriculum is in karnataka under VTU board set by the university however the college does provide its own material for practical classes and specific labs. Standard VTU curriculum is reviewed and revised every few years to the latest as per standards across all streams first 6 semesters you will have common subjects with a few electives and a major project in the final year.

College doesn't arrange for internships per se but you can apply for it externally while the college will support you completely.

Placements generally start in August of the 7th Semester with a large chunk of IT companies that visit initially and then the core companies follow one by one until June the next year some pool campus opportunities are also available of which the college is notified the college being in the heart of bangalore offers lots of job opportunities across domains.

Every department has its own freshers party and farewell party organised by the seniors and juniors respectively a department fest-ours was TORQUE a innovation hunt-AVISHKARA a project exhibition and finally a mega college fest that commingles all departments at its grandest.once a year.

For state students CET fees will appply which will be about 50k per year for general merit students for out of state students COMEDK fees around 1.5 lacs per year ll be applicable for students from management quota it generally ranges from 8-16 lacs initially and yearly fees of 1.5 lacs.

Scholarships are available for certain caste students like vokkaligga sangha or some Haj community ones which has to be taken care of by the student himself the college doesn't offer any financial support.

Campus life is pretty vibrant with people from all over the country there are lot of foreign nationals as well in certain departments. Gender ratio is in general 55:45(male:female) while in my department it was (95:5) "Mechanical" department after all this is generally the scene all over the state.

There are two hostels-Indian hostel with Indian mess and NRI hostel with NRI mess the quality differs greatly so does the pricng Indian hostel+mess charges come to about 90k per year while NRI hostel + mess charges come to about 2 lacs per year i had friends in both the hostels, the food is pretty much the same.I preferred the indian mess for food and NRI hostel for stay.

The alumni network is pretty good i recently had my 1st alumni meet arranged by my juniors last week in the college campus itself. The alumni connect is largely helpful as it helps one understand the work life, post study experiences way better.

There are three sets of internal exams to evaluate you on an average of 25 marks whose average goes to your final score and prior assignments to the internals. There will be all labs in a particular week spanning for a duration of 2 hours to cover all the experiments on time and giving you ample time for additional practice before exam.

Standard CET procedure, you opt for the college and course and then come with the receipt to the college the admissions department- Hall of Admissions will first review your documents in detail and take the college copy of the admission with themselves and ask you to proceed to the fee section. You then enter the fee paying section and pay the required fees for the first year and take the receipt of admission.

The faculty range from Assistant professors to PHDs where the highly qualified ones generally teach the higher semesters even the lab assistants are also quite qualified and knowledgeable. There will always be an odd one and exceptional ones as well.
