Internship experience review

I am from U.P and Jaipuria is one of the best colleges to opt for if one wants to consider the option in U.P. The campus and the brand value it carries is enough for one to go for this college. The fee is also not as high as IIMs or many of the other B-schools. One can take admission through various entrance exams like CAT, GMAT, MAT etc. I went through websites like India today, etc to see the ranking if the college and also talked to a few of my seniors and friends before joining the college.

This is my first year and thus haven't got the full experience as the physical classes have started recently. However, the faculty members are very cooperative and supportive. They have guided me a lot in certain competitions. Faculty are experienced with some even more than 40 years of age who have a plethora of knowledge. Every faculty hold a certain degree which is good enough to learn lots of practical things from them. Even after the virtual classes initially, the classes started on time and exams were also held on time. With proper guidance of teachers and seniors, it was not too difficult for us to pass the exam but we had to work day and night.

Like placement, there are companies that visit to offer students internship opportunities. Real estate, hospitality, automobile, advertising, digital marketing are some of the domains from which companies visit to offer internships. Some companies take students for both final placements as well as internships. Few companies also offer live projects which help us in practical experience by working with companies of real-life projects. Projects like working on increasing the presence of a brand in the duration of 2 months help the student to gain experience and face challenges and overcome the difficulty which helps in the overall development of a student and be ready to face the corporate life in future.

Students are eligible for final placements once they enter into the second year of the college. Companies from almost all the domains like FMCG, consulting, banking, insurance, etc come to college and offer students different roles with a decent amount of packages ranging from 6lac to 18lacs. Around 300+ companies visit the college every year for placement opportunities. Leading MNCs and companies from fortune 500 list like Amazon, Asian paints, etc also visit the campus for placement opportunities.

The overall course of the fee is 10.5 lacs. The fee doesn't hike at the percentage at which it increases in IIMs. Till now what I have observed is that in a year the fee rises maximum by 0.5lac for the whole course. Few students get a scholarship based on merit. The jobs provided is at par with MBA colleges in the country and the opportunities are good enough for a student.

Our annual fest includes OJAS which s conducted for a regular 3-5 days. In these colleges from different parts of the country come to the college to participate in different competitions organised by the students of the college. Books are available in the library. There are more than 10K books available in the library and is also accessible to students. The classroom is also well organised by big boards and well-maintained classroom with enough space to accommodate every student and work peacefully. There are many groups and clubs formed with each group having its own role to be performed.

First criteria are the student have to appear in at least any one of the entrance exam like CAT, XAT, MAT, GMAT, CMAT. Once shortlisted in this, the candidate has to go through GD and then PI. There are different weightage of the entrance exam, GD, PI, 10th and 12th marks also work experience. I went through some of the GD-PI topics from videos on youtube and asked my seniors for some guidance before going through GD and PI round.
