My college experience

It is nearest to my home. GOALPARA COLLEGE is considered as one of the re-known colleges of lower Assam. It has some great alumni like - poets, writer, literary figure as well as some civil servants. The professors are very much experienced and they teach very best. There 14 departments in our college consisting of 3 streams arts, science and commerce. All the departments have best professor of the Assam who taught us. Goalpara college also well known for its vast library, biggest playground, a huge number of students (almost 3500 students) from various places of Assam are studying here. Every year lots of students from Goalpara College get admission to some of the best Universities in India. Faculty members are also good. The atmosphere of the college very impressive and so it's greatness brought me here to take admission to the college. I'm very much lucky to be a student of this great college.

I chose BA English because I like to enjoy literature. Poems, drama, novels, essays as well as the history of great English literature. So Goalpara College has one of the finest faculty members in the college. And my English department also has the best faculties in it. In BA English every year almost 45-50 students take admission. Goalpara College English department has the best faculties as I have mentioned above. Their education qualification is also high. We have 5 Professor in the department. Where 4 of them has their PhD degree/M.Phill and one of them are doing his PhD last year. Many books published and remake by them. I'm lucky to know that. So the teaching method is quite good. Regular classes happen. Notes have been provided by them. They complete our syllabus at the exact time. The term exams have been taken by them every semester after completing all the syllabus. They compose fruitful and needy questions for us. But its quite tough to getting well marks.

6th-semester students are eligible For campus placement. Many local companies visit here. And a large number of vacancies provided by them. 60% chance of placement is there. My plans are to do masters in English after getting a bachelor degree.

Goalpara college admission fee system is average like all other institutions. It takes 5400 for the admission. And it has the fee relieved system where financial backward people get admission without any money. Every year scholarship has been provided by them. There are three types of scholarship given by them. Hostel scholarship, yearly scholarship and caste depending scholarship. I have got 2 times in two years. I have not got any job because I m still studying in it.

Every year College week happens where cultural rally and sports have been played. Freshers welcome ceremony is there where cultural program happens and famous celebrity comes to perform on the occasion. Science and technology exhibition happens here. Book fair, all kind of festival, art exhibition takes place. In extracurricular activities - Personality development course, computer courses, Spoken English course, Competitive exams preparatory workshop, NCC, NSS, Red cross are there. And also an election for the students union happens there. Social Group - Goalpara College Students Union (on FB).

Hostel Facilities for boys and girls are there. One boy's hostel and two girls hostel is there. A room for a single student. 24 hours of electricity. All the needy facilities available there. Meal quality is average. Veg and non-veg both are there. In a week 3 days non-veg and 4 days veg. Hostel registration can be done online. And everyone can afford it because it's rent is very cheap. PG or rental room is available near by college. I haven't taken any rental room or PG because my own house is there.

An entrance exam is taken by them every year. The topic is the subject regarding the major. The online admission system is there. And the off-line system has been deducted. You have to submit your admission form online. And then you have to submit your receipt on the day of verification. If one should want to take admission then they should prepare for the entrance examination. Where they must study the subject they are looking for.
