Remarks
SRM in itself is a different world. There is a huge exposure in the college and the college has a lot to offer. It all depends on how alert and how passionate you are. Be at the right place and at the right time to grab the opportunity and you are at the beneficial side.
Entrance Preview
The exam was SRMEEE. It was an MCQ test with the syllabus that included physics, chemistry and math.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is one of the reasons why this university stands out. We're free to choose our subjects and faculty as well, which no other institution enables. We get to decide if we'll take too much load in a semester or not. So it's a very nice thing.
Internships Opportunities
It's just been 2 months since I joined the college. I do not have any idea about it. But I would definitely find more about it.
Placement Experience
The placements are excellent and the recruitment percentage is increasing every year. The packages that the companies offer are very attractive and compared to other universities are better off. The quality of companies coming to the university is also increasing by the year. Overall it's fantastic.
College Events
Now comes the best part of the university. The amount of events happening is so many that there's no count of it. Every evenings when I step out my class, there's something or the other happening in some part of the college. There was Shuru- Cultural competition, Jhalak- Inter house competition, Aarush is going on currently which is a techno-management fest, Milan- Inter-college cultural fest, That's what I know so far and I'm sure there's many more.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee is a little on the expensive side, but the university provides it's returns. The facilities and the amenities that the university provides fully compensates for the fee. The fee is 2.15 lakhs per year and the hostel charges are 1.1 lakh which can includes food too.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes student loans are provided by the university depending on the family income of the student and the performance in academics. Scholarships are also available for students and they're decided upon the acedeminc performance of the student.
Campus Life
The campus life is brilliant for there are equal number of girls as there are number of boys. The atmosphere is just amazing. People here know to live their lives. People here are very open and expressive. Sports activities at the university are plenty with amazing facilities that encourage students to take part. There are many clubs like the debate club, robotics club which also make sure that the little potential of the student is identified, trained and then exposed.
Hostel Facilities
Since I'm a day scholar I don't know really. But what I've heard from my hostel friends is that the hostel rooms are really nice and well maintained. The mess has a South Indian and a North Indian section, where students can go and have food according to what they prefer.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni spoke us during the orientation, they gave us their experience during their days and how the university has changed over the years. The senior students are pretty chilled out. They have fun with us and treat us in a very professional manner. Few tips are really helpful as well.
Exam Structure
The exams are really well structured with a goal for the overall benefits of the student. We've got Cycle tests, surprise tests, model exams, model practical exams and finally the university exam. The plan is such that student does not study one night before the paper. The structure makes sure that the student knows something about what he/she is studying.
Admission
The notification of the exam came about in the month of February. I applied and wrote the exam in April. Results came in May and by July I got into the college.
Faculty
The faculty does what they have to do. Teaching wise they're nice and some are really friendly as well. I personally was not expecting the faculty to be so caring and understanding, since this is what we were told during our schooling that college is difficult.
