Remarks

Everything related to study is good only. But I am not so happy with the placements it provided to our batch.

Entrance Preview

I took OJEE and scored All India rank 921. Opted for GIET, Gunupur because I heard allot about it from my seniors earlier.

Course Curriculum Overview

1.5

I was in Information technology and the course structure was all around IT only. And it helped me allot in my career thereafter. And I was in b tech is can't say anything about the research subjects as it is for march students. Otherwise the course structure was up to the mark only.

Internships Opportunities

No my college doesn't provide any internship. So I can not give any details related to the general stipend and experience.

Placement Experience

0.5

When I joined my college, placements were really awesome almost 400 were qualified for TCS. But in our batch, only TCS,CTS,TECH Mahendra, Infosys came for placements and some startups also. TCS was the first company which visited our college. And I was the branch topper so directly qualified to Interview round.

College Events

1.5

To be very frank, my college was not at all interested in any cultural or management festivals. And this is the only thing I think where my college lacks because it is really necessary for the students. But talking about the technical festivals then yes my college celebrated many of the technical festivals. And students from all over odisha used to come there for the participation. I also participated in many events in order to prove myself in extra curriculars also.

Fee Structure And Facilities

I think the fee structure of my college was expensive only. But it depends on from where you belong. Like I was from outside odisha. Despite of scoring very high, I had to pay much higher fees. And some students were also there who were from odisha and they scored not so good marks. But still they managed to took admission in government colleges and fees were relatively very less there.

Fees and Financial Aid

My college doesn't provide any scholarship or loan facility. but some students used to avail scholarships who were from odisha only. Again a advantage for students from odisha and disadvantage for outsiders.

Campus Life

2.5

The very first thing I want to mention about my college is its high quality tuition. We used to attend college at 8 o clock sharp till 9 pm night. So it was hectic also. Now talking about the gender ratios, it was not so maintained. The number of boys was relatively high with respect to the girls.one more positive aspect of my college is that it is 100% ragging free campus.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

I was staying in girls hostel and ladies hostels in our college were outside of college. Every hostel was divided into some blocks which comprises 2 double sharing rooms and one single bed room. I was also in a double bed sharing room. The food was of average quality only. Not so good but not bad also.

Alumni/Alumna

I think the seniors are really helpful. Now also I am in contact with many college seniors. They are working in different multi national companies and are very friendly also. They all have achieved a good position in their life.

Exam Structure

Exam structure was also good. We had exams on alternate days so it was chilled out. I took exam for 48 subjects in my 4 years of journey. And many labs as well for different subjects. Also I took many internal exams for 30 marks each. We need to secure at least 12 marks in order to make us pass in internals. And for main exams we need to secure 45 out of 70.

Faculty

1

All faculties are well qualified in their subjects. They are above m tech degrees. So all are masters especially the faculties of computer science department were masters in computer science. All faculties helped us a lot to make us learn the Technologies. Also the helped allot during our semesters and internal exams.

Exams are conducted continously with no gaps and its not a easy stuff students get lot of stress but still somehow manage.

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
