Remarks
Great college, great staff. The facilities are all there, how you use it during your 4 years in the college, is all up to you.
Entrance Preview
COMEDK examination, 4044 Rank. Always been interested in automotive and automobiles, so went for Mechanical engineering at the prestigious DSCE college.
Course Curriculum Overview
Good curriculum, now that DSCE is a deemed university, I am sure the curriculum of my juniors would be even better. I chose electives in the quality control field, because this is what I want to be working on it the future as well. I want to get into quality control for a big automobile manufacturing company.
Internships Opportunities
Not a lot of companies come for internship as the winter/summer breaks are just a month long. The college does appreciate if we find internships on our own and try to gain extra knowledge.
Placement Experience
Good placements, good opportunities. Everyone in my batch got placed within the placement period. Average salary offered in 3.5 Lakhs/p.a. Maximum salary is 18 Lack/p.a. All leading IT companies leading software companies. A few select automobile companies.
College Events
So many fests: Technical talks, Cultural talks, Management talks. Huge crowds used to attend these talks, sometimes so many that we would not be allowed to enter the auditorium because it would be full, and the auditorium is huge actually. Furore was the name of the official college fest, and it was a 3 day festival of pure joy and fun, always great to be a part of the organizing committee.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is both feasible and expensive. For students with local quota (Karnataka), they had to come through a different exam than the ones from outside Karnataka. Fees for locals is feasible but for outsiders is expensive. The college has good ties with the government which provides concessions to students with less fortunate families so it is all taken care of.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, the college provides scholarships and loans, but they make it a point to be equitable about it, they prefer to give scholarships to people who can't afford it.
Campus Life
Tolerant to all gender, ethnicity, race, religion sexual orientation, political and economic status. The college is an international college, students from all over the world come here to study - Iran, Israel, Sri Lanka, Kenya, South Africa, Ireland, Kuwait, Dubai.
Hostel Facilities
Always a delight to be in the mess. I had always heard bad things about hostel messes, but the Indian Mess and the NRI Mess in the college were out of this world. Healthy food all around, unlimited as well hostel was really nice, never had even a single episode of ragging in the time that, I was in the hostels facilities - TV room, library, Squash courts, gym.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network is strong, since I am an alumni now, I keep getting mails about alumni meets. Seniors are sweet and helpful never had or heard about someone having a ragging experience in my 4 years in college.
Exam Structure
Exam structure has been designed to keep the student in the loop with the studies as well as allowing them enough time to relax in between it was never hectic during exams, the exam days and the preparation days in the middle were evenly spaced out. Labs were actually quite fun, I used to look forward to labs.
Faculty
Faculty of all colleges is always mixed, but they are all friendly. Some professors more knowledgeable than the others for sure, but no one would ever deny to help you with any situation you might find yourself in. Being a mechanical student, I always shared a good relationship with all my professors and my HOD as well.
