Good college, trained faculty

VIPS is quite renowned. It is considered to be the best college in GGSIPU. The faculty is great and the infrastructure is good too. The admission process is quite tough and messy as there are many steps. Heard alot of good reviews about the college and my elder brother graduated from the same college so I opted for this college.

I am pursuing B.A. English Honors. It's a great course if you have an interest in literature and reading novels. The faculty is pretty good and clear all your doubts while giving good explanations where ever required. There is no spoon feeding so you have to do the assignments on your own though teachers are there to guide you. The student ratio is around 15 boys and 45 girls in a class of 60 students. There are two sections so approximately 120 students in a batch. The faculty is qualified enough with Masters degree and some with PhD. The teaching method is fairly good but can be better with more rigorous and thorough reading of books. The term exams were timely before the COVID scenario after that it is quite a mess. The exams are not very difficult to pass if you have attended the classes and studied on your own for a bit.

The course was launched two years ago and no batch has passed out yet so can't really comment on placement cell of my department. It would be great if college decides to run a central placement cell and all students get equal opportunities.

The college life is pretty amazing. But things have chabged many fold after covid. Before there used to fests and guest lectures and events every now and then. There are departmental fests and events to attend that are enjoyable as well as knowledgeable. There is a library that is okayish not very hifi. The classrooms have inbuilt air conditioners. and projectors too. There are many college societies and clubs one can participate in.

The fess is approximately 1lakh and I am not aware of any scholarship availabilities. There are no campus jobs as such. There is no as such financial aid available for students that I aware of.

No hostel availability so can't really comment on that. It would be great if VIPS in fitire decides to have a hostel for students that come from outside Delhi.

I had to give a written test called CET (Common Entrance Test) conducted by GGSIPU. It asks basic questions about the course you are pursuing. It is not very difficult to crack given that you have prepared well for that.
