Entrance Preview

I took the Comed-K entrance exam and got selected based on my performance. Score-100/180. Rank-4000 (roughly, too lazy to check out the actual rank) Okay, there is not much to say about it. It was that straightforward. Really.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course I am undertaking (ECE) is a mixed bag of both theory and practice. To a few, it will appear as though it's predominated by the former, but on spending some time on the internet and with computer applications such as MatLab, this theory can come to life and you will be exposed to the real beauty of the course. The course is structured poorly as of now, having too many subjects crammed into a semester due to the illogical bureaucracy of VTU. By 2020, this college is deemed to be set free from the shackles of this parasitic organization and the course structure will be heavily revised to benefit the development of its students.

College Events

2

We have an excuse for what one might call, a fest. It is called Maaya and is held every odd semester. Our college organizes 'hackathons' that deprive you of sleep and is just there for fun. Well, there are a handful of really serious people in it, but it is poorly organized due to lack of funding and infrastructure of the college. These could be made a lot of grander if only the thing that runs the world is available to the students that organize these events. Right now they aren't that great.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The CET fees are well fixed by the Government at about 40,000 rupees so if you get in through that well done have a cookie. The other way is through Comed-K that gives you a ticket here for 1.4 lac. This is also fixed by the government. The final way is through, of course, management quota, which requires one kidner 4 lac rupees. It is priced the same as other colleges in the city, but hey, come here for only the ECE department, that is if you have a brain and want a meaningful life in engineering and IIT or BITS is out of the question.

Fees and Financial Aid

They have scholarships for people with the very well deserved and totally non-discriminatory SC/ST certificates. I am unaware of any scholarships given to regular GM candidates since I will never be qualified for it even if they did have one.

Campus Life

2.5

Labs in the ECE department are thought through well by the faculty, but since it is lacking in funds (i wonder where the 4 lac per student went from management quota) the equipment can be replaced with rocks and nobody would notice the difference. Sports Competitions. We have teams, by we, I mean the students organize it themselves. Got the first rank in VTU badminton Oh okay cool, go study now. (PES logic) Debates.

Hostel Facilities

3

I have no idea since I reside in Bangalore. Food looks and tastes good though, but since human beings tend to get used to things, that will apparently taste bland after a while. There is no pleasing a human is there. The girl's hostel actually shares a lot of similarities between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Everyone with a vagina is oppressed.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network I don't think that exists. If you are an ex-student just visit this place as and when you wish. Seniors are helpful But that doesn't depend much on the college, but on who the seniors are, really.

Faculty

4.5

ECE is handled by a department that is very focused and determined in having its students understand the field in every possible way. They are extremely helpful and boast of faculty who are highly knowledgeable and eager to share that knowledge. There are a lot of teachers that will really help you grasp any and everything demanded by the curriculum and even beyond it. A handful of them holds PhDs from IISC and the IIT's. They have very respectable industry experience and are highly skilled individuals. Faculty in the ECE department are the best part of the college and make it worth more than even other ECE departments among the top colleges in the city.
