Remarks
IIT BHU has a 100 year old tradition and established by Madan Mohana Malaviya. It being a very prestigious college for graduating from a course like civil engineering, I thought it would be a good option for me in enhancing my career.
Course Curriculum Overview
I am passionate in studying civil engineering and moreover from a college like IIT BHU, it's value would even more increase. Even the professors being highly educated, it would be interesting to learn new subject. They carry a mic for being audible in such a big class room with huge crowd. It almost has 20 professors per each course and each course having 100 students in each batch with total of 4 batches i.e, 20 : 400 faculty : students ratio per course.
Placement Experience
For any course opted, usually the 3rd year student is eligible to sit in Campus placements for the companies that opens for his CGPA. Upto my knowledge, the highest package earned was 1.52 crores per annum and earned by a computer science student and EEE, ECE students too get such packages depending on their speciality. Average package earned by civil engg. student is 12 lacs per annum. Nvidia, JP Morgan, VISA,Cisco, Qualcomm, Policy Bazaar,Bajaj, Aditya Birla, Amazon, Goldman Sachs etc. with total of 188 offers. 762 students out of 1063 students got placed in the campus placements which is approximately 72%. I presently am thinking of doing MBA in states after graduation of my degree.
College Events
Being a 100 year old college it's infrastructure is not that modern but still comfortable enough. However, new hostels are being evolved with good infrastructure. We often have annual fests and tech fests like Spardha, Technex conducted in October and near March where we enjoy a lot. And there are sport clubs running whole year giving you chance of playing your liked sport and other science clubs helping a lot in learning technical stuff. Coming to academics, there will be every book available in the library that's referred by lecturer to study.
Fee Structure And Facilities
There is change in fee structure based on reservation. For a normally student to graduate, it takes 2.76 lacs per year(tuition fee - 1.26 lac per sem and hostel fee- 12000 per sem). For a student with OBC (below annual income of1 lac),SC,ST - the fees become 12,700 per year with hostel fees being the same. Coming to campus jobs, you being passionate enough, you definitely will end up with a good annual package.
Hostel Facilities
You are provided with the basic facilities like light and fan. You also have internet facility as long as you are in the campus. There is common bathroom for all. There will be a bit shortage of South Indian food. However you have seperate mess for south Indian food with non-veg twice a week and eggs as per your requirement. You simply should give you hostel fees receipt followed by your signature to the warden for registration purpose.
