Remarks
There were no infrastructure related issues. The resources like computers etc were more than the number of students. We were given single rooms during the two years of our stay. All classrooms are equipped with a high-speed Wi-Fi. Hostel rooms have LAN connections. Hostel food menu is mostly decided by student committees. The canteen is open till 2 AM, serving all sorts of food. Medical facilities are adequate. All labs are equipped with most of the paid licensed software generally needed for computing. Food is decent. Fish tikka at Hall-7, IIT Kanpur is something I miss a lot.
Course Curriculum Overview
All the faculty members are alumni from reputed institutes. Student teacher ratio is very good. Teaching methods include case studies and field projects apart from regular teaching. Courses are designed by teacher itself as per the students' requirement. The marking system is also decided by individual teachers. MBA course has two dedicated special project courses which enable students to work on what they like. Few of our batch mates worked on their idea of a startup. The college also has a startup incubation centre for aspiring entrepreneurs.
Placement Experience
100% placements. Roles ranged from a senior analyst in data analytics, relationship manager in banks, supply chain, software consultant etc. The average figure for our batch was 9.5 LPA. Names of the companies visited can be seen from the official placement reports placed on the college website.
College Events
Two years in IIT Kanpur and studying MBA were the most eventful days. The college has given everything. Anataragni cultural event was a highlight. There were many events like Techkriti etc. The college campus is the most happening place. The nightlife in Kanpur campus is the best. There were absolutely no regrets. IIT Kanpur charges a very nominal fee for MBA when compared against other MBA colleges. We got far many resources than what we paid for.
