Remarks

The management is wonderful. They've always encouraged us to give our very best. Attendance is a very big things in SIES. They will take you for a ride if you don't have the minimum attendance. Just attend the lectures since you'll get a lot of knowledge and also since the enjoyment is in the classroom too.

Entrance Preview

I joined this college after I cleared my 10th grade. Joined here through the linguistic minority quota. Admission procedure was by submitting the correct documents at the right time and right place.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Took the course as it was a basic graduation degree and since I was focusing on becoming a CA it helped further. B com focuses majorly on the basics of all the subjects. Helps us to take a further decision on which subject or field one would like to master in. It helped because the subjects included were also vast and relevant.

Internships Opportunities

No, The college does not provide any internship. The faculty members may help us find one by recommending good places to earn experience.

Placement Experience

4.5

Out of a batch of 400 candidates around 250 had applied at all the companies that had come for job/ internship placements. Out of the 250 candidates, almost 100 had got selected. Companies like Willis Towers Watson, TCS and Nokia had come. They were offering a package of 1.8L p.a.

College Events

4.5

Disha which is an annual festival which encourages the type of course and educational field one could choose after graduation. It helps the children find out which is their field of calling. Fantasies is the annual college festival which is held in around December-January. Filled with fun and frolic, it's a relaxing time for all in college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees is very feasible as it's a government aided college. 11 and 12th - Fees was around ₹1,200 p.a. B com (3 years)- Fess was around ₹4,500 p.a. Other private courses like BAF, BMS is around ₹16,000 p.a. Since these courses have an extra specialization, the course fees is a little on the higher side.

Fees and Financial Aid

No scholarship/ loan facility offered by the college that I know of. Since the course fees are not very high I am assuming they do not offer any loan or scholarships.

Campus Life

3.5

The campus life is something that varies from person to person. I enjoyed the 5 years in college. The gender ratio is pretty good. There areas many girls in the college as the number of boys. We have a big ground wherein sports like football and cricket can be played. There is a Gymkhana within the campus where indoor games like carom can be easily enjoyed.

Hostel Facilities

3

There is no hostel associated with the college. The college does have a canteen and a small Nescafe store inside. The canteen serves wonderful Chinese food. The quantity is also good enough and the rates pretty reasonable. The Nescafe has good ice tea which is refreshing.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors in the college are always helpful and friendly. They never leave a stone un turned to not enjoy our college life. The network is pretty strong but that again depends on how you as a person are with them. Be good and people will be wonderful with you (not only in college but in life too!!)

Exam Structure

B com has 6 semesters. Each semester exam is held at a gap of 6 months. Other than these semester exams, there are internal tests which also form a part of our final scores. These internal tests are for 20 marks each. It is held after 2 months of the start of the semester.

Faculty

4

Most of the faculties are PhDs in their respective fields. They are always ready to answer any sort of queries without any hesitation. The faculty members leave no stone un turned to boost the confidence and morale of any student they teach. They are always an ocean filled with the knowledge.

Placement Experience:

At TCSC placements are quite good as anyone. Even the SOBO colleges and Mithibai don't have placements as good as us. So this is why I always dreamt of studying here because since last 6-7 years, Thakur College placements have gone better and higher.

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.
