The faculty is well qualified, and pedagogy involves engaging students in mindful discourse to train them in problem-solving. Also, there are frequent visits by top-notch visiting faculty from top B-Schools which is always an overwhelming experience. Shortlisting for Personal Interview and Written Ability Test is done based on CAT scores. A composite score is prepared based on CAT score, WAT, PI, and previous academic record.
Course Curriculum Overview
Postgraduate Program in Management (PGP) prepares a student for all the challenges with respect to the socio-economic environment. At IIM Bodh Gaya, the course curriculum of PGP is deeply involved in teaching accounting, financial management, business research, and the Indian legal system. An equal share of theoretical knowledge projects and industry workshops provides an all-around enrichment for a management student. Here at IIM BG, the overall curriculum is overseen from IIM Calcutta's curriculum. The eminent faculty has substantial experience of teaching in IIMC, the institute known for its standards of PGP Finance. It is the prime reason, why I opted for PGP Finance at IIM Bodh Gaya, as the overall pedagogy is as per the IIMC. The exams are held timely at the end of each semester, however, students need to achieve the minimum threshold marks of 6 CGPA to be promoted to the next semester. If they fail, students have to register for electives offered in that Semester.
Internships Opportunities
IIM Bodh Gaya received 100% summer placement for the PGP Batch of 2018. The summer placement drive saw participation from recruiters across sectors. The prominent recruiters have been Amazon, TCS, IDBI, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Infosys, Deloitte, and Sterlite. Maximum internship offers were extended from the IT sector (28%), Manufacturing and Consulting (8% each) while the minimum from the Insurance sector (3%) only. The highest stipend offered was INR 100,000 and the average stipend was INR 61,000. Students received coveted roles in marketing, sales, finance, consulting, and finance.
Placement Experience
IIM Bodh Gaya has a dedicated Placement Cell and the institute observes a 100% placement every year. The highest CTC for PGP Batch of 2018 reached INR 24 LPA whereas the median salary package offered was INR 10.6 LPA. Some prominent recruiters visited the campus from Marketing, Consulting, Wealth, and management sectors. This included top-notch companies like E&Y, HSBC, KPMG, edelweiss, DS Group, DTDC, and many more.
Fees and Financial Aid
PGP at IIM Bodh Gaya is a two-year program. Each year is divided into 3 terms, thus adding to 6 terms for the entire course duration. The total course fee is INR 1,060,000. As per the fee structure, students have to pay a total of INR 185,000 in the first term followed by INR 175,000 in each of the next 5 terms. There are a total of 4 types of scholarships applicable to PGP students at IIM BG. The scholarships are offered by the Government of India. These are merit-based scholarships eligible for SC, ST, Minority, and Disabled students. IIM BG placement rate is 100%; which denotes every student receives an offer from top-notch companies visiting the campus.
Campus Life
Campus Life is what students can vouch for at IIM BG. Students are given ample opportunities to participate in educational, cultural, and recreational activities. This is done to nurture all the hidden potentials of each student. The institute has a media cell, cultural and sports clubs, and committees that organize events at the campus. The students also participate in IIM Ahmedabad's Flagship Management Fest.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility is good at IIM Bodh Gaya along with good food and a place of study. The hostel is built as per the needs of the students. There are separate hostels for male and female students on campus. The hostels are usually built at a walking distance of perhaps 5 minutes from the main academic block. The food is served four times a day. All the basic amenities as a fan, lights, table, the wardrobe are facilitated with each room. The surrounding is calm which make for a wonderful study and on-campus experience.
Interview Experience
There was a personal interview round along with Written Ability Test Round. At the personal interview round, questions were regarding academic background, work experience, and place I belong. To prepare for the interview, students need to practice public speaking and speak in simple, understandable English. Also for the final day, make all the preparations beforehand to avoid last moment hustle.
