Placement & Summer Internship at IIM Kashipur

I chose IIM Kashipur due to its brand name and reputation and the opportunities it has to offer to any student who desires to pursue an MBA. One of the key element which attracted me to chose IIM Kashipur is its placement opportunities and its ranking in India in the Best B Schools. Admission into IIM Kashipur is based on the entrance score of CAT, Previous Academic Performance, GD-PI. The selection process of IIM Kashipur starts in the month of Feb-March.

The program at IIM Kashipur is divided into six terms, three in the first year and the remaining in the final year. In the period of 2 years, a total of core subjects are taught. While students are asked to select the elective courses in which they want specialization. IIM Kashipur conducts the term exams according to the academic calendar. Students have to study religiously in order to pass the exams.

IIM Kashipur provides internship opportunities for us. Every year many prominent companies offer positions to the students. The average stipend of a summer internship is above 70,000 INR. While the highest summer internship package goes beyond 3 Lakhs. Students are placed across various sectors such as health care, FMCG, Technology, Manufacturing, Retail, Entertainment.

The placement session of IIM Kashipur 2020 was very promising, despite this year being challenging, a total of 252 job offers were made to students. The highest domestic package was 45LPA, while the highest international package was 48.50LPA. The top recruiters were from the field of marketing, finance, operations, IT and, strategy and consulting. Some of the prominent recruiters for the year 2020 were Reliance, TATA Motors, OYO, Infosys, KPMG, RBL, Godrej, and Boyce The placement drive begins from Term V. Students start getting offers from this time. While some students get PPO while doing their summer internship.

The total fee of the MBA program is 15,42,000 INR. Out of the total fee, the caution deposit, library deposit, computer deposit, and mess deposit fee are refundable. The cost of the MBA program is on par with the fee of other IIMs and top B Schools in India. IIM Kashipur provides scholarships to SC, ST students and merit-cum scholarships to minority communities. IIM Kashipur also provides financial assistance to students for the cost of the MBA. The institute has tie-ups with banks that provide loans to students.

The social life at IIM Kashipur is very happening. every year cultural and sports fest are organized promoting various extracurricular activities. These events have shaped my personality in a number of ways. At the campus, we have Titan Club, OSM Club, Hrythm club, Consilium Club, Finance Club, Ecology Club, and more. To make things more sophisticated, IIM Kashipur various committees - Sports, Cultural, Mess, Academic, Alumni Relation, Corporate Cell.

I used to watch videos on the internet to strengthen my communication skills as GD-PI plays an important role in the final selection at IIM's. Preparing in advance gave me a boost and helped me very much. Admission to IIM Kashipur is based on the score of the CAT entrance exam. Students have to clear the cut-off of IIM Kashipur and clear the GD-PI round for the final selection.
