NSIT: A vivid experience

Pros: Good brand name. amazing placement for tech-related fields, worldwide recognition, entrepreneurship opportunities, in-college incubator program with government funding for startups, ample parking space, good connectivity via public transport, scholarship for meritorious candidates, ample space for outdoor sports activities. Cons: Rigid administration, Strict attendance structure, Students have to study on their own - very few supportive faculty, unnecessary fines, and challans, long college hours 8 am - 6 pm. Admission process: JEE mains score and then JAC counselling afterwards. Dates: June-July (tentatively) Reason for preferring this college: Good Infrastructure, Ease of access, Brand name, Good Placements, Startup Incubator. Used Collegedunia to get access to previous year cut-off scores.

I chose the course for the brand name. My interest was more in the college brand name rather than a particular course. 1:40 ( student:faculty). All faculty were PhD holders. Teaching was more based on our own efforts rather than the faculty Bi-semester exams, moderate difficulty.

4th year - Eligible for campus placement. 100s of companies visit with numerous offer. All major MNCs and Tech companies visit for campus placements. Highest package: 1 Crore LPA. Average package: 5LPA. All the students appearing for placements with no backlogs get placed. 95% placement. Working in the corporate sector. Campus Placement: Assistant Manager Digital Marketing @ Tjori (CTC - 7 LPA).

Each year fees increase by 10% from the previous year. Fees Structure: 1st year - Rs 125000 2nd year - Rs 135000 3rd year - Rs 145000 4th year - Rs 160000 No scholarship, own finances.

Moksha annual fest in March. Tech Fest in December (Never Happens). A huge library with good resources. Books were issued on a quota/reservation basis. No amenities in the classroom, just a room with fans and desks. Sports activities on a suo-moto basis. Many social groups - Ashwamedh.
