Remarks

Before choosing this college I took help from one of my cousins who had graduated from this college, he told me that the faculty was very good and there were many societies to engage in. One of the best aspects of my college is that it has the best faculty in Delhi University as most of the teachers have their requisite experience from teaching in Sri Ram College of Commerce. The admission criteria this time was online and I think it was the best measure taken by the university itself. If I talk about the usual admission process, it's quite cumbersome and one had to go to different department heads for taking their signatures. The main reason I preferred this college was that i was near my house. I read reviews from shiksha.com before taking admission to this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum's really good and was updated (CBCS) in the same year I took admission. I choose this course as I had the interest to study and learn about finance. Bcom(Hons) really gave me a staircase for what i desired for my career in finance. There are two sections in Bcom(Hons), both sections have different teachers for some subjects. The faculty is well qualified, most of the professors are P.H.D and other teachers of general elective subjects are postgraduates. The quality of education is good and the professors really work hard to teach students in innovative ways to encourage them to study well. The exams were timely held, the internal examination was also held to give us an idea about the questions that could be asked in the external exams. The external exams were held on time.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Our college offers both on-campus and off-campus internships for the students. The criteria for eligibility are quite different i.e., 3rd-year students are eligible for on-campus internships and students from every year are eligible for off-campus internships. Top companies like Tommy Hilfiger, Decathlon and Woodland visits for on-campus internship drives offering stipends ranging between 5,000-10,000 p.m. with variable according to the performance. Projects are offered to the students and a fixed stipend is given but the variable stipend depends on performance. Another criterion is that if a student performs well in the internship then there is a chance that the company might offer him/her a permanent job.

Placement Experience

4

The placement cell of Sgndkc actively finds companies that are hiring for an intern or for placement and provides this opportunity to students through an official WhatsApp group and on official email ids provided by the college. Students in the 6th semester become eligible for placements both on-campus and off-campus. Companies like Tommy Hilfiger, Decathlon, Wipro, Pwc, Yes Bank have visited for on-campus placement in our college. The highest package offered was around 10lcs p.a. and the average package offered lies between 3lcs-5lacs p.a. The profiles offered to vary from company to company like the no. of sales executive job offer are more than the managerial jobs offered. 70% at an average are placed by the companies which visit the campus for placements. Many students don't take offers as they have plans for further studies. My plan after getting the degree is to prepare for the CAT examination and get into a good college for MBA

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of my college is quite affordable i.e., 18,100. The fascinating thing was that this time we saw a plunge in fees for last year i.e.,16,500. The fees hike policy is decided by the Delhi University itself but there is not a strict hike policy as different colleges which are managed by minority authorities have the liberty to decide this pattern. Our college is under the management Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Parbandar Committee(DSGPC). There is a scholarship program in our college in which students can register for taking the scholarship test and if eligible to go for further steps can write an application to the principal for a scholarship. Other than the scholarship program there is no financial assistance provided to the students. The companies are yet to come for this semester for the on-campus internship.

Campus Life

3.5

The life at the campus is good, stairs and canteen are famous places among students. The name of the annual fest is "Surlok" and it's very popular among students from the south as well as north campus students. Th annual fest has many fun activities like the Punjabi Singer event, Talent Round, Stand-up Comedian, and Dancing event. My college has a gigantic library and new books are updated every semester So that students can read and make their notes from the latest books from the latest curriculum. All basic amenities are there in our classroom like blackboard, chalk, duster, projector, and fans, etc. Yes, there are societies in our college that encourage students to participate in different sports and extracurricular activities. There are many societies in our college and they have their pages handled by college students on different social media platforms. Currently, there is no society in which students operate a website.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
