Remarks
I appeared in WBJEE then I got the chance to study in this college (though even then I wasn't serious about the exam). Finally, I got admitted to JGEC in July 2019. I was in college till Feb of 2020 till the covid situation fell down. I think JGEC is an underestimated college, it has fantastic natural scenarios and environment and a campus full of green plants. I always wanted to get admission to JU or JGEC because both are very old and reputed colleges and have a good academic record. So when I didn't get a chance to study at JU, JGEC was always my second choice. The hostel food of jgeJGECc is very good at least better than the messes. The infrastructure of the college is good and just this year in 2021 it got accredited by NAAC and now it is a tier 2 college which is not bad.
Course Curriculum Overview
Honestly, I didn't know much about courses so I chose ECE as recommended by most of my relatives. I had a total of 60 students in my dept. when I got admitted. The number of faculty is enough I think. I mean, after all, everybody knows that engineers learn everything from youtube or other platforms. Most of our faculties have passed M.Tech from some IITs. So they are very skilled I must say. Because it is an autonomous college so the exams were moderate and it is very hard for students to cheat in the exams.
Placement Experience
Students can apply for on-campus placements before their 8th sem. Various companies are visiting our colleges such as TCS, INFOSYS, and some more core companies, The number of product-based companies visiting the college is very less so one has to do it on his own if he\she wants to make it there. For example, just in 2020, some guy from the IT dept got a 30 LPA off-campus placement from the college, and it the topmost package from this college till now. I think every year 75 percent of the students get placed somewhere and get a package of 3-4 LPA average.
Fees and Financial Aid
The best thing about this college is that it is nearly no investment-type deal. I mean it's just 60000 INR for 4 yrs. So I guess it is very helpful for most of the students. Various scholarships are there in the college given by some passed out college alumni.
Campus Life
SRISTI is the annual fest JGEC and every year it is celebrated in the best possible way. There is a big library in the college so you shouldn't worry about the availability of books. There are various clubs in the college like The Rotaract club, Jyoti club, photographic club and so on.
