Remarks
IIFT is one of the best schools in the country. It has a niche in trade, but all other domains are also taught like any other B school. There is a written test followed by a shortlist for GD and PI. Once the shortlist is released, we had to fill a form containing some basic questions. Then there would be a GD and PI. I preferred IIFT over the baby and new IIMS because it's established, has a very rich alumni base.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose the MBA(IB) course because it covers all the facets of management. All our faculty members are very experienced. IIFT follows the case-based teaching method. Term exams are held at the end of the trimester and attentively attending classes is enough to pass
Internships Opportunities
For summers, roles are offered in finance, marketing, trade, consulting, operations, product management. The average stipend for the batch of 2021 was 1.7L for 2 months. The highest package was roughly 3.4L for 2 months
Placement Experience
IIFT has 100% placements every year. Top companies in the domain of finance, marketing, trade, etc visit our campus every year both for summer and final placements. A lot of students also get PPOs every year
Fees and Financial Aid
We pay roughly 18L for 2 years which is less than what the IIMs charge. There are scholarships available for meritorious students. Our average package for summers placements is roughly 1.7L for 2 months for the batch of 2021
Campus Life
We have events such as trade winds. We have section wars where the sections fight it out against each other. We also organize TEDx. Life at IIFT is very happening. IIFT also has one of the biggest libraries. We have a lot of clubs, cells run by students.
Hostel Facilities
The MBA program is a residential program and hence it's compulsory for all the students to avail the hostel facility. Rooms are provided on twin sharing basis. The mess provides healthy food for the students.
Interview Experience
There is a GD. My topic was would artificial intelligence take over all the jobs in the world. Topics are mostly revolving around what's happening in the world. I would suggest reading the newspaper daily to get a hang of the GD content
