Remarks

The admission to the university for the IPM course is based on entrance plus merit. I filled the entrance forms in January before my class-12th boards. The cost of the entry form was about 4500. The entrance exam called IPMAT was conducted online on 21st July which mainly consisted of 3 sections namely logical reasoning, aptitude, and Language. Entrance results were declared on Aug-16. Around 5000 students were selected for the interview. My interview was on Aug-23 which was conducted online in which there were two panellists and they asked questions related to my subjects and general awareness. Within a week interview results were declared and I was on the waitlist. A month later on 27th October, I received the call from IIM and the offer letter. I joined the course and my classes started on 31st October 2020. The classes and subjects were really good. The faculty was very experienced and we even had many foreign teachers in the online mode. It gave us good exposure.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The major reason for choosing this course is the brand name of IIM and certainty of the future after 5 years. Also, my interest and passion for management inclined me to opt for this option. IPM follows a tri semester rule. And in each semester we have 7 subjects ranging from streams of commerce, science and humanities. Even In the online mode, we hardly faced any issue. our faculty is very experienced and interactive. All the teachers are themselves IIM/IIT graduate with PhD and 10+ years of experience. They teach using PPTs and e-books and facilitate interaction using mails, WhatsApp groups, and class discussion sessions. We have 6-semester exams in a year. So every second month we have exams. Mid-semester exams and end semester exams. The checking pattern is transparent and satisfactory. However, the course requires very hard work to survive and excel in the semester exams. The teachers teach well and so expects us to also perform well. There are daily quizzes and tests to ensure our performance.

Internships Opportunities

5

At the end of each academic year of the programme, students are required to undertake one Internship for a period of 8-10 weeks. Each student must complete the following internship requirements- The participant must complete an internship of eight weeks in any rural or social sector organization of his/ her choice, subject to approval by the IPM Chair. The internship must be completed before registration for the second year of the programme. Participant must complete a business internship with a business enterprise of their choice, subject to approval by the competent authority of the Institute. The internship must be completed before joining the fourth year of the programme and a report must be submitted in order to fulfil the internship credit requirements. Participant must complete an immersive research project under the supervision of the faculty of IIM Rohtak.

Placement Experience

5

IIM ensures 100% placements to its students. There are around 40 new recruiter companies every year. The Highest CTC for the year 2017-19 was INR 24.13 Lakh Per Annum while the Average CTC was INR 11.85 Lakh Per Annum. Overall the placements are good and reliable. The IPM students have 5 years to explore the placement opportunities. Some of the Top Recruiter companies are Cognizant, Deloitte, ICICI Bank, KPMG EY, Yes Bank, Dabur, BPCL, Tata Steel, Aditya Birla Group, ACG Worldwide, Amul, India Mart, Accenture, Kotak Mahindra Bank, HDFC. Even before getting the degree, college placements take place.

Fees and Financial Aid

For the first year, the fees of the programme are 5,50,000 in addition to the mess charges which are approximated to 40,000. Most of the students in the course have opted for the option of education loan which is provided by the University itself. For the next batch, there is a fees hike of approx 50,000 per year. The option of the scholarship is availed by the student who attains A minimum CGPA of 6.5 and no grades below C+ and a parental income of not more than Rs.200000 are essential conditions for eligibility to apply for the scholarships. The Scholarship will be awarded in the ratio of one scholarship per every 20 students. No Student involved in any act of indiscipline, misconduct or unethical or immoral behaviour will be eligible for any scholarship. At any time, a student will be eligible for only one scholarship internal or external except for one merit scholarship. Only students applying for the scholarship in response to the notification will be considered.

Campus Life

5

I myself have not yet been to the campus as our classes are being conducted online because of the lockdown. But still, there are many events and functions being organised by the college in the online mode. Many quizzes and completions are also organised in the online mode by the students which is very fun and engaging. We are provided with e-books and all the necessary study material in the online form only to aid our learning. Many sports and extra-curricular activities related events are regularly being organised.

Hostel Facilities

5

The course provides us with the hostel facility within the campus itself. So for the initial years, there's a 2 room attached sort of apartment for 4 students on sharing basis (for girls) and it's 2/3 for boys.. since we ourselves have not yet been to the campus..so not much sure about it. The cost and charges of the hostel are all included in the fees themselves. All the necessary facilities are provided by the authorities. The hostel is compulsory to take by the students and they cannot go for private pg or rooms. There are separate hostels for girls and boys. The quality and maintenance are very well arranged.. also the quality of food is very good. Overall it's a great experience. Also, there's a STORE within the campus operated by the students themselves to buy any required stuff.

Interview Experience

5

The entrance pattern was Section 1 which comprised of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). There was a total of 60 questions from the sections Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning and Verbal Ability. Section-2 was of Written Ability Test (WAT) in which we were supposed to write 2 Short Essay on the topic given. I was given a topic related to the coronavirus pandemic. In the interview, there were two panellists who asked questions related to my subjects of commerce and some general awareness and business aptitude Questions. They also gave a topic to speak upon instantly. The entire process of the admission was done online because of the pandemic and there were no issues because of their well-maintained system of management. I prepared for entrance myself through some entrance books..and also for the interview. What counts in an interview is your presentation and confidence. Out of the 5000 students selected for an interview, 200 were finally shortlisted for the admission

Course Curriculum Overview:

The BBA CAM curriculum is quite good overall and that is one of the main reasons I chose this course. It includes both management subjects and computer related topics which gives a mix of business and technical knowledge. We study subjects like marketing finance programming and business communication which are helpful for basic understanding. The syllabus is properly divided semester wise so it is not too hectic. However some subjects are more theory based and I feel there should be more practical work and real life projects. Adding more internships and industry exposure would make it better. Exams are held every semester with internal assessments and the difficulty level is average if you study regularly and it opens ways for both MCA and MBA you can get into any of the fields in future.
